All her life, she had done everything according to her parents' plan. So, she's finally letting loose and taking charge of her life. Regarding the blind date, she didn't go on a "Business Proposal" blind date with the guy. Unfortunately for her, he had met her before when she was appropriately dressed and well-mannered. So, he knew it was her rebellious attitude towards being asked to go on a blind date. In ep 2, they started warming up to each other.

I think that's where the writer messed up. Even as his master, it is inappropriate for him to have romantic feelings towards her. However, as a teenage boy, we can only assume he is going through all those messy emotions that make teenagers act stupid. So, his behavior is open to interpretation. That's what I can logically conclude at this point because, as the master, Ruyi stood in a position of authority towards him and never abused that position.
