I was also thinking about the treatment of MZY on the run up of the 'Untamed' for even daring to be pictured near the ML's and how messed up some of the fandom is. The Director could've come forward to clarify her role right from the beginning to save her the abuse, but he didn't, he wanted the PR attention/ hate traffic.

If it's the same person who's also this WGJ producer, LYT had the foresight to see how manipulative and messy he is and luckily she walked away from the games.

Glad LYT walked away from this unprofessional production and the toxicity.

There could be a silver lining. 'Steller Gravity's' Wang Yixu left a comment on her Weibo and he mentions a script he's sent her. Gives us hope for 'Si Ming' etc 😉.

Agree with you Re; the misogyny. I also felt that way with the BL thing if it had gotten a chance to have a foothold across more productions who chase traffic. In essence women are getting erased, whether by design or accident. Their relevancy and roles are downgraded for the male characters, and most of the ppl clapping on were women who unknowingly (knowingly) were erasing themselves.

LYT did the right thing to walk away from this mess, and the pandering/flip-flopping producer. Other producers have come out in support for her. Hopefully this now frees her up for Si Ming etc ...

China's upfront with their propaganda. They literally have organisations with the word in it. Being 'known' for their propaganda as a 'fact' sounds like western propaganda in itself. The same could be said of blockbuster Hollywood war films and games which get financed by corporations with associations to Washington & MIC. That would be propaganda if it was China but not...

I wouldn't say fight heavy but the choreography was good, it felt like an old school wuxia. The actors did most their own stunts, and the martial arts director was the one who was on the 'Ip Man' films.

We never get to know what goes on, on the money & business end. "The Wolf" was released after a long delay without explanation.

Jing Boran & Song Weilong were pictured together camping recently, so it's possible the release might be near... I hope.

Hope the Q4 rumour holds, the novel's not BL so delays could be post production/ other issues. In addition to the Main Leads, we get Bi Wenjun, Hong Yao, Liu Xueyi and Wang Duo. The casting gods literally answered my call here, I cannot wait.

I hear you, however even on the basic level of a public figure with some PR awareness, he should of known the optics of the PM's son doing victory signs with him at the Yasukuni would be an issue back in CN and could potentially be used to haunt him. ZZH didn't do anything heinous but he unfortunately offended public sentiment on a raw ongoing issue. But he'll be back once it blows over.

The ZZH issue was a collection of pictures, in addition to the Yasakuni & Nogi shrine and the contentious ppl in them, (son of Japans ex PM, Ex wife of Sukarno who've said vile stuff about the Nanjing Massacre, right wing figures Toshio Motoya, Koizumi family etc). It's not a good look as a CN person to get yourself pictured with the son of Japan's ex PM doing V sighs at the Yasukuni & Nogi . If an Israeli actor were to do the same with the offspring of SS officers at a memorial for the SS, that wouldn't have gone down well.

ZZH isn't permanently cancelled but on time-out where he's not famous for a while. Once its blown over he'll be back. Many actors who've had bigger scandals (including YXW) have come back. What ZZH is guilty of, is being ignorant & clueless, with a lack of self awareness to let himself be put in these positions by his 'friends', which then gave the toxic CP brigade/ anti fans material to black him, but he'll be back.

I'm going to have to disagree . I'm from the culture and on the regular we see actors who've done worse come back and continue working ( Jin Han, Henry Huo, Qu Chuxiao, William Yang, etc) one had a dead, naked actress found under his hotel window, and he's currently working. This isn't reported internationally as they're not idols / well known to international fans, but they are stars in China.

Life isn't as black and white and all about the CPC, it depends on public consensus for regulations to work. Stars get judged as a whole, so DL hadn't done anything wrong prior so there's no reason why he would be treated worse when others who've done worse are not black listed permanently. I don't make light of what he did, it was the height of greed and stupidity considering there were many examples out there and he knew they were watching privileged and high net worth people.

I'm not a DL fan but wrote the above after reading comments in Wang Duo's Weibo where no one mentioned it being pulled. The impression I got was DL's time away would be light.

Cnetz are more in the know about the nuances of how cases turn out. Obviously I hope they're right as it wouldn't be fair to have everyone taken down by 1 .

I'm here for Wang Duo. If he can give some of what he did on 'Bloody Romance' and 'Ying Yang Master' it'll be worth watching.

YM + GJ have started filming 'Fox Spirit Matchmaker' so it looks unlikely they'll be paired up again, unless I'm missing something.

Same, I knew of her from reality shows 1st then saw her dramas and was impressed with her range. Her resources maybe slowing abit, and there's this backlog of dramas but I get a feeling the show with BWJ is going to do well...

I hear you 😿. The one with Jin Han, unless there's post production issues they may be waiting for the public perception of him to blow over (cheating scandals etc). But the one with BWJ looks hopeful as they've listed it now on IQYI as 'coming' alongside ' Love between Fairy & Devil' which is premiering tomorrow. LYT filmed her guest part at the same time as filming 9Heavens, so fingers crossed...

On Wang Duo's Weibo from when he wrapped on the N.W, no one in the comments commented about it not airing due to DL.

DL was also out promoting. He was out and about with a black sweatshirt with the NW clock logo on the back, so it looks like he's come out of laying low. Hopefully this drama should air after the usual post production period.

First saw LYT on reality shows and found her down to earth and funny. After watching her dramas I can see why they cast her in heavy roles too, she can act, her acting has range and it's nuanced. Look forward to her new work, especially the one with Bi Wenjun.

He's been unlucky all his works are held or unreleased due to being caught in other ppls cancellations etc. His last drama was 2018. Hopefully -The League of Noblemen, Night Traveller and Chinese Paladin 4 gets out at one point...

I don't think he can't come back from this...if he's willing to play the long game. We've had actors do much, much, worse. One was found with a naked dead actress under his hotel window, and I noticed he's silently coming back on the scene again.

He should continue to reiterate via IG about the blossom route etc and preferably touch on the question marks most Chinese ppl have about his relationships to the other Japanese/ contentious ppl in his photos. I feel if he confronted that and kept it consistent and is willing to wait he will be back one day.
