The Moon Lovers I watched it one time and I didn't dare to rewatch it again bc I was depressed for almost a month, it may take me even more to forget what happened in the current drama.

I expect this drama "BFTB" to fall hard bc many see "the timing" is a provocation and a diversion tactic.

It's bc the cut problem, Youku's production team was so greedy instead of serializing it in two seasons they pressured it into one season I would have waited if I would get a good ending even for one more year. I'm already waiting for S02 of JOL for more than three now, I would do the same here but I have nothing to say now it's already a dead end.

I've studied literature for four years and never heard something like that, so thats your personal interpretation, doesn't have anything to the right definition of tragedy which is "a serious and dignified style the sorrowful or terrible events encountered or caused by a heroic individual"

The word itself means "an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe or unfortunate events such as betrayal death, etc."

Tantai Jin life is literally a personification to that and it didn't end well as you said he still slaved to that damn plot until he lost his life when did he get that family as you said? that ending is even more pitiful than his complete disappearance and if we didn't categorize this as a tragedy what does a tragedy suppose to be?
Even Bai Lu herself said, "It's a perfect tragedy".

It's definitely a tragedy "tragedy, branch of drama that treats in a serious and dignified style the sorrowful or terrible events encountered or caused by a heroic individual."

You should put a Tragedy in the Genres slot.
