A heat is for omegas, while ruts are for alphas (and when included, enigmas). Heats are more submissive types that make an omega want to fulfill their instinct need of wanting children (this is insanely crazy to say, but Idk how to explain it in a lighter way, English isn't my first language lol)
While a rut is for alphas (and again, enigmas) to fulfill their own needs of wanting to create that life with an omega (or any rank lower than them), to create a family
When they mate/mark (by biting the scent gland [the part of skin that creates the pheromones, usually on the neck]) they become bonded (lovers forever & if the person were to mark someone else, they'll experience really horrible things [Example: Shaoyu's dad marked so many different Omegas, he developed cancer]) and no longer will experience rut/heat as they have found their partner who can can decide with them whether they want kids or not.
The ruts/heats, as far as I know, serve as things to attract other ranks in order to find a mate. Think of it like animals :)

Yong didn't actually think Shaoyu would go find him and try to help him because he thinks Yong is in trouble (which he wasn't, he was trying to keep Shaoyu away until he was ready and truly in love with Yong).
Within the room, it's totally pitch black btw, so he thinks the assailant is someone else, while Yong wasn't in total control of his body (due to mate-seeking & intense rut at the same time)
For Gao Tu, he's in heat, and they have to be 90% compatible to be able to even trigger Wenlang's rut. Wenlang is intoxicated and therefore not in the right mindset -and also in a rut, which makes it so that he can't remember. And Tu is also in a haze where he can't think due to his heat. Even if he did try to push away, his instincts as an Omega still overtook him.
So while the situations are horrible for both (and I will never justify these actions in real world terms) it makes sense for them in the ABO talk

Betas don't have a smell, while Enigmas, Alphas, and Omegas do. If you think abt Betas, they're like "normal" people. They don't have any effects, they don't feel that much of everything unless it's super strong and stuff like that. So they're the closest to actual humans that we have IRL
You'll probably learn more if you read the novel (I have, still ongoing for the translation so I'm waiting slowly) but I'll warn that DEFINITELY Hua Yong does cross lines, but the ABO Equality Act I think is basically like real life gender equality where they try to not discriminate (? ykwIm) in workplace and stuff like that, because Omegas do tend to be looked down upon by higher ranks 🤔
Well, as of today, my heart just broke. Recasting would be good for a s2 & 3 even if I'll still be a little sour. I hope they both do well in their individual paths, Boom worked hard and he deserves to have a good career, Smart deserves love even after all of this
Like fr never blame the artist unless we know for sure it was them. I never doubted SmartBoom and only the companies and I was just so devastated this is how it ended. We had everything that we could possibly have for a literal continuation with both, so it's such a disappointment..
Just finished ep 6, the victim blaming in this is not it. kinda disappointed Wasn’t a fan of the non consensual…
It was way worse in the manga & anime, I was very thankful this is what we got, and it was more toned down than what was in the other two (ep 6 really wasn't it for me, but ep 2 Imo wasn't too bad compared to that.)
