By the way, Fang Duo Bing is not only talkative but also pure and kind-hearted. I only call him talkative because…
He was annoying at first, immature, too quick to react and sometimes a blabber mouth lol but by the end of the book he turned out to be the most honest, selfless, caring and righteous character in the show. I absolutely adored him and his total dedication, love and loyalty to LX.
Strange tales of the Tang Dynasty is similar to this for me
Not even close lol The male lead is obnoxious and dumb (the guard) , the cases are not that interesting and they don’t have the same dynamics like this here.
OK so Fang Doubin found out he is li xianyi and the fact that he believes he killed his father is so ridiculous…
FD is the best character in the series. His devotion for LX, even when in his ..dumbness thought LX killed his father he still cared and tried to protect him. By the end of the series he’s the only honest, caring and righteous character of all and the person who loved LX the most. Di Fei Sheng had his plans too, and he was anything but honest ,only towards the end he relented a bit and started to care for him.
Not a happy ending, unless you’re delulu and you really really need it to be happy. It has the ending we all knew it’s gonna have, we had 40 episodes to get used to it so by the end it doesn’t really have the force to hurt that much.
I think you should try to see things from Qiao Wanmian's perspective, I have the opposite opinion to you, I like…
I agree, and not about the girl, I couldn’t care less about her storyline (it was forced in there in case God forbid we might think it’s men’s love 🙄) but I agree that he played the martyr “woe is me” too much , making all his friends suffer, and Fan Duobing the most. FD fought so hard for him to live, he struggled so hard, cried and pleaded... My heart broke for him, for how much he cared about LX. And not only him, a lot of ppl cared for him yet he got stuck in a continuous pity-party and self blame..It was exhausting.
hey....i hope there is no romance in this...cuz i purely want it to be a bromance between the male leads?
I do have a few good ones to recommend . On Netflix we have an absolutely fab historical/high fantasy Chinese one (for me it was almost a BL) : The Yin-Yang Master:Dream of eternity. On Viki we have Decline (historical) An ongoing Chinese drama cop/fire inspector (ep 28/38): Unnatural fire. Bloodhounds is an excellent Korean one. If I remember more I’ll let you know. ❤️

So funny.. 🤣 I searched on Google pure bromances and took me to a MDL list and to this series respectively. Then I scrolled through the messages and came upon this message with the promise of a list and what do you know …it took me to the same list I was at the beginning 🤣🤣🤣 Apparently it was your list all along. . I thank you for it by the way. Excellent list.
Under the skin was brilliant even without the bromance part to be honest.
He Xin’s dad gives me the creeps. Poor guy, he’s gonna have his heart broken when he finds out his father is a monster. Can I ask in which chapter will he realize he is that child. I swear I can’t with the tension. I went to bed at 4 am!!! 🙈🤣❤️

Although Xu is always paying attention to anything that happens to the captain, like he’s studying him attentively and the captain is more obvious he has a crush on Xu 😁

Are you sure there’s a good bromance in this? I’m at ep 7 and they’ve barely exchanged two words. They’re rarely on the screen at the same time. On the contrary, Xu doesn’t seem to like the captain very much. He snapped at him when he called him “fierce”. So far the only bromance I see is between each of them and the girl. 😭
"This show is awful! How did you manage to finish it?"It’s not awful. For a drama with limited resources and…
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s a censored gay romance as it’s an original script and not made after a BL book. Only in cases like that one knows for sure. And I also can’t tell you if the romance is obvious. I (and maybe my delulu mind) see their dynamics as something more than regular friendship (the cops has a lot of other friends/colleagues yet he doesn’t act like that with them) but if you want a clear hint that it’s more than a friendship in the first season there isn’t. There’ll be subtle clues though and lingering looks . 😁In the second one their intimacy is a bit more obvious and the declaration from the last 5 min of the last ep of season 2 is the most romantic I’ve seen in a bromance. In a bromance, yes? 😁😍😍
