Cute drama
This was quite cute although, can we all agree that the queer couple stole the show? Sure, their story is a bit far-fetched (“turning” a straight guy -and a homophobic one at that- is not that easy or realistic,I’d even say it’s not likely, but hey, it’s called fiction for a reason . I absolutely loved them , especially Ou Wen (what a gorgeous guy!) . Their chemistry, their intimate scenes and Mark’s decided and “No hesitation” attitude charmed me to no end.Unfortunately the main couple was kind of a snooze-fest ( the ML was gorgeous though ) and the third almost-couple was adorable.

Surprisingly good
I had no expectations going into this one especially since I didn’t know the actors but this was a very pleasant surprise. Just for the fact that there’s no white-shirts kids and it’s a winner in my eyes lol Loved it , especially the first 8 episodes. Loved the chemistry, the story, the acting, the hot scenes (the bunny and the tiger sex rump will live rent-free in my head forever 🤣) . After the 8th episode when they were properly in love and courting they suddenly became too prudish for my liking (especially the doc), they stopped having sex and the doc was acting like a prickly shy blushing 18th century maiden. And all the drama with the father, mother, black ripper ghost and the “I’m going away for studies” was OTT and unnecessary. I wish it had stayed light and focused on romance and sex like in the beginning, it would have been a 10 then. Was this review helpful to you?

Very enjoyable
Let me start by saying that ppl who left negative reviews probably came here expecting something like KinnPorsche so I wouldn’t take those opinions into consideration. Is this a masterpiece? Well, no. It’s silly, soft and light so if you want realistic portrayal of mafia and a complex plot this isn’t it.Pros: the guys have chemistry, they’re both handsome , and their intimate scenes (kisses) are plenty and juicy. The bed scene is also good. They were incredibly cute together from beginning to end.
Con: the mafia thingy is unrealistic, Ping can’t cry to save his life and Meen didn’t have too many facial expressions, as always. To sum it up they worked because of their chemistry rather than good acting (although they have improved quite a bit over the time).
Still it’s much better than some BLs I’ve seen out there. It’s enjoyable, made me love the guys and root for them , the end was very satisfying and it was short. All good things in my book.

Meh
Very underwhelming. The series tries and tries but it’s all underwhelming and underdeveloped. The main couple is a snooze-fest , so boring and bland. The second couple is way better but unfortunately it wasn’t developed enough and the third couple was…. chaotic. I couldn’t understand them and what they wanted. Too long for a story that doesn’t really say anything. Was this review helpful to you?

Awwwwww
This was so so cuuuute. This would be any BL series if the characters wouldn’t hesitate and confessed like normal regular ppl without dragging the angst of “should I? Or shouldn’t? “ like we’d like. LMAO Like.. they’d be THIS short 🤣This was absolutely lovely and delightful to watch.

ADORABLE
Only Japan can make a fluffy wholesome BL to also have depth and meaning. Loved it. Don’t trust the negative reviews, there is no incest and the lead character is over 18. Excellent dialogues and acting, excellent music and excellent secondary characters. The relationship evolution and development was so so well done and so heartwarming…Made my heart so soft and tender gah. Go watch it. It’s not a masterpiece but I laughed, giggled and swooned with Toki. 😍Was this review helpful to you?

One of the best
Taking away that shitty albeit poetical ending this was a perfect 10 drama for me. Not enough words to say how good was the acting and how beautiful the bromance. Or bromances, because DiF was amazing too, although for me FD and LX were simply soulmates. And I loved LX but my heart absolutely melted for FD and his fierce love and dedication to LX . He fought so hard for him ,struggled, cried and pleaded for him to live , I cried buckets, not because LX died (we had 40 episodes to get used to it) but because of FD’s pain and heartbreak. He gave us moments more beautiful than any BL out there. The way he cared for LX ..gaaaah, I feel like crying again.. All the characters were interesting and complex and and I especially loved the cases they investigated together. The 3 male main leads were absolutely fabulous and the villains very…villainy . Excellent piece of Chinese cinematography. Was this review helpful to you?

Ok-ish
Cute, short and with happy ending. That’s all I can say abt it. It was just an ok Bl with just ok chemistry, just ok acting and just ok plot. The child-actor character ML was kind of bland and flavorless but the other two leads were slightly more interesting. Apparently I have to write more to reach 300 characters. At this rate it’ll take me more time to write the review than it took watching the short 🤣Was this review helpful to you?

Still brilliant
Still brilliant, still thrilling, still captivating, same superb acting, same great cinematography and an even better and obvious bromance. The last scene with them on the rooftop is one of the most romantic I’ve seen in a bromance (with the exception of Word of honor). So so worth it! (and I didn’t even like Chinese dramas). Was this review helpful to you?

Wholesome
I think this is probably one of the most beautiful BLs that Japan gave us and it should be added next to Our youth, When it rains it pours, Cherry Magic or Old fashion cupcake. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a 100% wholesome young love before in a series, with so many green flags(from the main leads to family and school colleagues ) and so many emotions and touching moments. Too bad that just as every little Japanese gem, this is also very short . I could have watched another 10 episodes with these wonderful boys and the gorgeous landscape. Well, we least we all know the saying: Strong essences are kept in small bottles. I would recommend this BL shouting from every corner of the world. Please do yourself a favor and watch it, it’ll make your life a smidge more beautiful. Was this review helpful to you?

The best from Japan
I think that watching every single episode 4 times says it all, no? Brilliant acting, skilled and charismatic actors, complex storyline , fabulous OST , beautiful visuals, cinematography and photography and everything you’d wish in a BL . I was tempted to take away half a point for its shortness and the rushed ending and also for ignoring Sei’s sexual assault (but that was the author’s fault and not the series’s) but I won’t because damn it, this a masterpiece and my fav BL ever. A special episode would have been like a gift from heaven but that’s ok, we’re happy with what we got. Japan, you’re awesome ! Arigato. Was this review helpful to you?

A must watch
Already a classic among the Japanese gay movies with a surprisingly (and very rare ) happy ending. Loved everything about this moody film , the cinematography was chef’s kiss, the acting just brilliant, the quietness and the gloomy vibes , the simple yet touching story . Gah, loved it. Watched it so so many times. Was this review helpful to you?

Fabulous
I know there are better and more qualitative BLs out there, I know , yet for me this is the best . I love every single thing about it, from acting to music and to how absolutely gorgeous that little tsundere is. I’m aware that 10 out of 10 it’s not an objective rating but see if I care. I. LOVED. IT.Was this review helpful to you?

Greatness
It’s so unfair we get long boring series with stiff acting and no chemistry that have 8-12 episodes and then have small gems like this of only an hour. This was superb acting, excellent story and a fabulous chemistry. If only it weren’t filmed with a sandal lol Vertical filming, very badly done and with (probably) a phone did to this little treasure a great disservice . I absolutely loved it otherwise and I adored brave and sassy Doha 😍👏❤️

Precious gem
Another excellent masterpiece from Japan . I was reluctant to start it at first because it seemed …heavy. I knew it would be fabulous but I also had a feeling it wasn’t a light story. Yet despite its heaviness it was an absolute delight (unlike Let free the curse of Taekwondo where despite its awesomeness it wasn’t such an enjoyable experience, it felt more…oppressive somehow) . Loved everything about this series, the acting the most. Loved the story and the feelings and the realism of it all. I don’t know what to say about the extra episode to be honest because it left me with a niggle that I HAVE TO get off my chest. And that is the fact that Minase had too little character development. He always acted a bit cowardly when in school, always looking over his shoulder and afraid of what will ppl/ his friends think, never acknowledging Haruki in public/at school . It was disappointing to see him doing the same thing as adult especially when he made us and Haruki a promise. He acknowledged he was acting scared and selfishly because he was a powerless child but that he will grow up and he will properly defend and take care of Haruki. Which he didn’t as he was still afraid of what will ppl say and keeping Haruki in the shadows. I understand his fear of his parents knowing but I don’t understand how could he still consider that awful guy (the one with glasses who said he would hate him if he made friends with Haruki-what a jerk!) , a friend when he couldn’t be himself around him, still having to deny having anything to do with Haruki. I felt bad for Haruki. When he said that in school he had an unrequited crush on Minase I expected Minase to come out and say it wasn’t unrequited. But he acted the same as in high school. When we first see him as adult Minase was smoking and felt…free and rebellious and I thought he would be stronger and more self assured but he wasn’t.It’s not a big issue and I saw the subtle and beautiful ways he loves Haruki now but I just felt a bit let down by how he cut off Haruki’s words at the bar in front of his friends.
This would be my only complaint about this otherwise beautiful and touching story .
