I don't think she initiated the kidnapping. It's more like someone is unhappy about the ML's political background and actions. He has got onto someone's bad side and they are retaliating. Since his wife's identity is a mystery, the kidnappers might have thought about using her against him as a leverage.

unpopular opinion (i think) but i cant stand Dongjin. Everyone says hes so “mature” but the way hes treating…
I think it's more like a habit between them. The fact that they have been together for 13 years is great but it also shows that they were together most part of their life. Imagining a life without the other might seem difficult and DH is having issues because of this.
