About The Second Couple Taking Too Much screen time situation:
There are two possibilties:
1/ Youku/Producers love to milk their drama. So they need fillers to strech a drama in as many episodes as possible. Even if it drags the drama and screw up its path., they dont care. They want the money and they’re going to get it. The easiest way to achieve that is by pushing the storylines of side characters, especially secondary couple when they exist. It usually happen around the middle of the drama and they are put aside in the last episodes to let the first couple shine and stop people complaints.
2. Producers/investors in the drama are pushing the actors from their firms at the forefront by having them getting enough screetime to be worth the investment. So screentime they get.
