This is a type of genre and storyline. These type of Chinese drama will always have that predicament. Also you could read in the summary that that is the case and it's a plot device to move the story around for all of this type of drama. Even the male lead said in an interview that it pushes the story forward.
No one is evil. Malice. Or is trying toreally hurt each other. Everyone is doing what they think it's best with the situation they have. Both characters background is tragic.
Female lead it's like a bird in the cage. The person told her how they want her to be and how they want to use her as a tool....she learn she only get love from her "mom" through being the champion...she is drilled on how she is suppose to do and be.... you can't over gloss that within 1 month

Regardless. Some things are not going to click and Vibe with you even if it's a genre and storyline you like. Again for example, hidden love is a storyline in genre I eat up and love so much but I just couldn't get into it

I go into all drama with zero expectation. If you have any type of expectation. It just ruins the drama for you. Because I feel you will go into it with a bias mind frame

I didn't enjoy hidden love. But I didn't really leave a comment there. I moved on and just went to watch a drama I like and went to that form. Sometimes drama won't click with us regardless. I love is a genre that I would like but didn't click
