Wow, this sure was a ride. It's been a while since I binge-watched a drama like this. I do have to say, though,…
Love your comment and your perspective/assessment of the show. I can maybe comment on this bit right here: 'There might be ruthless people like them, who don't feel remorse, who would sell their country and its people without a second thought – but I feel like in this case they took it too far. I am also not sure what the message of this drama is in the end.' So for me the concept of the ending is to simply show that some villains can't be punished lawfully, they can only be eradicate. Because they are too deep in the system to fully take down without breaking apart the system of the country itself. In the end, Yo Han tried to make himself more in control by establishing himself a potential Presidential candidate, but then one of his closest men (Ga On) ended up ruining him completely. But a man like Yo Han won't accept defeat easily and he found a way to not only come out of prison, but to also take down the ultimate bosses with him all together. He wanted to at least wipe put the source of the filth, and hope that the remaining vermin will scatter and leave the country alone for a long while, hopefully long enough that a man like Ga On, who has by know understood how intricate corruption can be, can strengthen the system from within. Of course it started as a revenge tale, but Kang yo Han, probably as a token of love for his idealist brother, wanted to fix the system along with taking his revenge, and luckily for him, the most corrupt officials and his enemies were one and the same. Also I agree about Elijah, she was simply amazing, LOVED her.
sorry but i couldn't take the leader of this cult seriously, who would trust an old man with platinum hair which…
finished the show recently, and I gotta agree with every single word, except maybe about the length of the show, I think 8 episodes would've been more than enough.
I plan to watch this drama, but how come the rating and the review are so different? I like crime and action genre,…
Just a purely personal opinion, but if you love a chill dark crack comedy, with SIZZLING chemistry between the main leads, a smart and logical and sexy and (at many times) scary male lead, an endlessly understanding and mature and charming and sexy female lead (she's also the BEST figurative daughter in law ON EARTH), villains full of charisma and brutality and hatred, side characters worth their salt (although annoying at times), and a whole lot of stunning cinematography and music, then you'll LOVE this show! I think the lead protagonists/antagonists deserve a lot of accolades for their acting, and the music directors for the truly STELLAR OSTs. I hope you'll like it, if you do decide to watch!
