I wouldn’t say that this show did One Very Bad Thing, which caused me to drop it like a hot potato. Rather,…
Agree with every single word you said! Nothing actually happened in the show till the end, there were entertaining moments between the Hwarang gang sometimes, but that's about it. The hope for bromance made me watch this show till the end, but it was hardly fulfilled. The female lead was one of the most annoying ones I've seen, and she deserved the guy she got, they are both bad characters lol
The Hwarang boys' interactions were really cute in this, and my boi Ban Ryu not only had the best bromance but also the best romance as well, he was the cutest for sure! But what a weird show otherwise. The incestuous romantic themes are really-off putting, not just with the main couple but with the second female lead as well! The female lead was truly terrible though, her bad expressions and character and acting, all so cringeworthy. Made this show about a thousand times worse than it would've maybe been otherwise. I've also never been a huge fan of Park Seo Joon, his peak was at What's Wrong With Secretary Kim I think. He was perfect in that role, and in any other drama of his I haven't enjoyed his weird over-the-top expressions and acting lol. Over-hyped and over-rated.
LOVED THIS MOVIE SO GODDAMN MUCH F*CKK. Awesome story, awesome chemistry, they did a great job in making Kim Sung Gyu look ugly somehow, and the cop was so fuckin SEXY, and the gangster was SO amazing in his role, the humour was on point every single time. Enjoyed this movie thoroughly. Must watch, highly recommended.
I have one question. Was it ever stated why the first victim (Ko Eun Ju mentioned episode 4) was killed? I know…
I think Choi Ki Tak did kill other people too, simply because they pissed him off, he did kill one person in front of Han Jon Goo in prison, and scared him into not saying anything about it too, so maybe that first girl dies because of an unrelated reason?
Random impressions: Excellent pacing. The story unfolded very organically, and stayed engaging throughout the…
Yuri's plot could've definitely been much better, more of a writer issue than anything I think, but as a low level reporter, she did all she could I guess! Agree with your entire review, specially about the ending being so satisfying in terms of what happened, and the pace of it.
I wish I could give this show a rating of 100/10. Loved the story, the cast, their acting, the ost, the chemistry of all four leads with each other, the relationships they formed, the development in their lives over the course of the show, EVERYTHING. I cheered with every new evidence our main protagonists uncovered, participated with every sentence of the trials that happened, paused most episodes at several points to comment to myself about what was going to happen next, and then paused again when something shocking happened to take it in, and clapped with revelations, THAT'S how much I was into this show, THROUGHOUT and CONSISTENTLY. LOVED Lee Jun-Ho's chemistry with every single person in the show, LOVED THE FATHER SON BONDING MOMENTS BETWEEN HIM AND HIS ACTUAL FATHER, AND ALSO BETWEEN HIM AND DETECTIVE CHUN-HO, in most of those scenes I was sitting with a big smile on my face!!! LOVED watching Madame Jin, her role was perfection, and the actress was tailored for it and I loved watching a woman in a role like that. She was caring and maternal and smart and intelligent and I loved her scenes with Choi-Do Hyun, she had an interesting connection to the protagonist, and was relevant to the story throughout. So was Yu-ri, although less-so. Loved the show honestly, watch this and you won't regret it.
I want to see him in criminal/bromance drama like, beyond of evil , with yoo ah in !
OMG CAN YOU IMAGINE. He would absolutely nail a role as a CEO, or detective!!! AND I CAN BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT IT, HE WOULD BE THE BEST VILLAIN EVER OMGGG
