Really enjoyed this slice of life story with just a hint of the supernatural. I liked all the characters. There were no bad guys really. Just a bunch of young adults trying to figure out themselves and their place in the world.
this is fiction though, not real life... and BL fiction at that, magical things happen all the time in this world.…
Hmm. I am upset if they try to do a redemption arc or simply ignore his past offenses as stated in the above comment. I would prefer him to not be in season 2. I know nothing of the writer beyond the series which is what I reviewed. And this was not a show about rainbows and magic so I am not understanding why there now needs to be some in regards to Lhong. Do I wish someone would have beat the crap out of him, yes. Do I wish he was buried UNDER a jailcell, yes. But is him not being reported entirely in line with what we saw about Tar as a character? Yes. Three years later and he still hasn't told his step brother. Type as a victim who experienced the whole process of reporting did not take that choice away from Tar. If anything that should be respected.
Ok so I am getting a little frustrated with the whole "this series sucked cause Lhong didn't get justice" and I want to say what sugar coated world do you all live in? I actually work with sexual assault victims and the decision to report the crime is actually one of the hardest they have to make. It is a very personal decision. Do you think Tar, who couldn't even tell his step brother after 4 years, was going to be able to report it to the police? Heck he couldn't even tell his therapist. I have worked with clients who report and were ripped to shreds by the public, the newspapers, f*ck even the police. They received death threats and were blamed for ruining the perpetrator's life Our society as a whole is not kind to sexual assault victims, especially male victims. There are actually several studies on the revictamization of assault victims through the reporting and prosecution stages. To remove the agency of victims to choose to submit themselves to these new traumas is disgusting. It was not Type or Tharn's trauma to report it was Tar's. And having seen this character throughout this drama, he was not in a place emotionally to report it and that is his right. Now maybe after he has processed it more he would be but sadly in many areas there is a 5 year limit on reporting sexual assault (which is bs). Now the redemption arc for Lhnog is total BS and I don't want it and hope to not see that on my screen in season 2.
Just watched episode 6 and am a bit disappointed about the back and forth in the story. It is annoying, that in…
So I am thinking Duen's father is not very supportive of homosexual relationships. He has mentioned girlfriend several times and is very restrictive of Deun's activities. I see his standoffish sometimes as him catching himself going o I am not supposed to like this.
So unpopular opinion: I am trying so hard but I just find this series boring and repetitive. I mean the actors are good (their longing looks are SO good and sweet) but give them something to do. I am hoping it picks up in the next few episodes. Also I have 0 interest in the two side couples. (Please don't kill me ?)
