So Kai probably developed a crush and probably was "stalking" him, found out he was married, but just kept an eye out for him. So the theory sounds right to me about Kai being too late.
I'm curious how Kiritani was picked by Mamiya though? Unless Mamiya had eyes on Kai, saw that he was stalking the Kiritani and then decided he wanted to rape him in order to mess with Kai.
Because wouldn't Mamiya have tried to have rape/sex with Kiritani again later on but didn't, unless he was a one time thing and no longer fresh to him since I guess he preferred younger and Kiritani is 32 when raped then 33 a year later. How old was Kai?
