I knew it was going to bite her in the butt but expected it in the few episodes that led to the break up but nope, they saved it to the end.

But when you see it through an East Asian lens, in this context Korean society, there's a big stigma and scandal, since the child is out of wedlock (since they never married) and if Jin Woo plans to marry another woman in the future and he's a doctor (high social status) it can affect his marriage and family's reputation etc. plus we don't know his family background and expectations etc. It's an overall mess. In a way even selfishly, Ha Eun and Mi So are saving/honoring his reputation.
