Started this today.. what's the problem with ML's family? Why are they outcasted?
They were found on wrong side of mao ze dong socialist ideology, hence like so many other ppl they were labeled as black star families and exiled to rural areas and wilderness. Their property confiscated and their children and elderly parents given option to leave with them or stay by cutting off ties with the family. The ml sis cut ties and stayed in uni. The ml who was in middle school was left with his grandma and later after her death he also left to northern wilderness to work.
