Before that episode, Eun Yu and Se Kyeong had a convo regarding Eun Yu's pretending to be deaf for quite some time. The episode about the Cello Concert shed light on the start of her "hearing loss." She only lost her hearing during her panic attacks. Her hearing returned but she continued to act like a completely deaf, ig, as per Se Gyeong. Dunno haha

Same. Been wondering about that, actually. Se Kyeong was supposed to be in the US (original timeline and the altered one). It doesn't make sense that the Spring Festival concert where she met her first love was the same as the one Yi Chan is participating in. So perhaps, she was talking about another Spring Festival, like from previous years or in US.

Eun Yu pretended to be deaf for quite some time, as mentioned by Se Kyeong Ahjumma.

Perhaps she thinks it was a one-sided love from her mom. And if her mom's first love would reciprocate the feeling, then all is good LOL

She'd probably want her mother's first love to fall in love with her mother to the point that the man would do anything. Then she'll make up something like she's going to America again. The First Love, drunk in love, would then follow "Se Gyeong" to America and stop his dad and mom from ending up together.

But, Eun Yu doesn't think rationally, tbh. She just wants to disappear. So she doesn't really think too far ahead. Haha.

Yes, it's about Eun Gyeol and his family. But it's not about their family as a whole. It was about romance between Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu, and Yi Chan and Choong Ah.

If you feel offended, then I'm sorry. Still, I stand by my opinion that Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu's romance isn't in anyway forced. Like it flows naturally. They still don't like each other, so nothing too fast. And there's so called Love at First Sight. SO yes, you can like/love a person without even fully knowing them.

Since when did it say that Twinkling Watermelon is a family-centric Kdrama though? It's a Fantasy RomCom, Family is just secondary. You were the one assuming here, not me. Haha.

I just love Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu's endless bickering . It had me literally ROFL. And Yi Chan and Eun Yu's convo about Choong Ah in the hospital was so fckin hilarious. Haha.

If we will base it on the original timeline, Yoon Dong Jin who came from the countryside arrived in Yi Chan's city(is it Seoul? Not sure haha) just a few days before Se Gyeong's departure to US. There won't be much interactions from them.

Yeessss. I don't understand the hate for Eun Yu, tbh. Why can't anyone enjoy this masterpiece of a Kdrama without hating on a character. Damn those irrational beings who can't even watch this masterpiece objectively. Ughh

This Kdrama is a 20 for me tho hahaha If it's not your cup of tea, then stop watching. Don't unnecessarily give out low ratings or hate comments just because it doesn't suit your taste. If you can't critique it objectively, then don't say anything and let others who love the show enjoy it peacefully.

I think otherwise. Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu are a major catalyst for Yi Chan and Choong Ah's love to blossom. As we know, YC and CA would eventually end up together nonetheless, but that would be like for a few years later when they met in a Sign Language class. But Eun Gyeol's and Eun Yu's presence were affecting the original storyline. Both EG and EY have different agendas in their time travel quests, but intertwined with each other's. So their interactions can't be avoided.

At the end of episode 8, Eun Gyeol looked at his mother Choong Ah like he was willing to do everything for her, thus declaring "I like Se Gyeong" to hinder Yi Chan and Se Gyeong's potential love affair. And with that, there would be more interactions between EG and EY as EG were trying to remove SG(EY) out of the equations for his parents especially his mom.

I don't think anything is forced because their fates are all connected. EG and EY's potential romance is within the flow. Sure, you may be rooting for more YC and CA, and you think EY presence was an eyesore. But y'all should look at it objectively. Watch it from a neutral standpoint.

This KDrama deserves to be rated not less than 9.5 here. And no, you can't change my mind...unless someone dies at the end LOL. It has the perfect balance of drama, romance and comedy. I was crying at one point, then was feeling butterflies in my stomach, and the next thing I know, I was laughing my ass off.
