I agree. I would've been much happier that way as well xD But I always have a habit of finding the more depressing movies. I just learn to be happy with what it gives though, or else I'd've been very angry with the ending of 49 Days.

Personally, I thought the ending sort of kept with the melancholic feel it was giving off leading up to it. I can see what you mean, though. It was a bit of a "what in the name of Saint Francis" moment.
