Well she has to pretend she is sick so that she wont be a target, if she was not sick then from the first moments when she arrived she would have been attacked by those officials, and now she has to play the game, but of course i think the writer thought about this and maybe plans in the next episodes to cure her, maybe JYC will bring a physician and spend more time to treat her, proving the emperor he can take care of her and increasing the chances to grant them a marriage
