But the reality is that the number of "dumb, depth lacking, badly written" female characters has been going noticeably DOWN since mid 2010s in Asian dramas...When you read people's comments and analyze them with logic, you see that people don't really hate them cause they're badly written, they just don't like them cause they dislike women in general lol...sympathy, understanding and accepting that women can be flawed and have different personalities and STILL be strong and independent is just NOT THERE...the "cool, strong woman" this fandom have in their heads is just ONE type of person and everything that does not match that specific fantasy is just not good and annoying

Hot take but calling a character who was born with undeveloped specific senses dumb and naive has ableist undertones...XJ was actually smart as hell, she wasn't dumb, she just interpreted things in her OWN way...i actually LOVE her unique personality. she isn't a streotype, nor is she a character to fulfill male or fed-with-insecurity female fantasies. she was the cutest and kindest being to ever exist for the most but was ready to kick everyone's a$s who messed around with her friends and family to the moon all the time. she is THE female character.
