Anyone who's read the novel/watched all released episodes - can you answer my question with minimal spoilers?
I've just started watching and loving it tpso far, I want to recc this to my husband but - he HATES the trope where a character appears to be of low status but is actually a noble, at least genetically. Is the ML in this going to secretly turn out to be someone super important by birth? Yes/no answers are fine ☺️
One, this drama didn't have a high budget so they can't be picky and must work with what they have. Both LYN and…
Why not get him to play the dad, then?
It's a tiny role in terms of actual acting, I don't buy the idea that the budget was so small they couldn't find literally anyone age-appropriate willing to do it - that doesn't make any sense. I'm not saying it wasn't a nice thing for him to do, but if the price of a cameo from a famous actor is that a very important role within the main character's backstory is grossly miscast, I don't think it's worth it. Just my opinion though.
What i don't understand is the age of lady yu lou/e huang. Isn't bogong too old to be matched to her? Back then…
Lol I just posted a comment about this, then scrolled down. The brother is weirdly miscast, he should be late teens/very early 20s I believe. Instead the actor they got is almost the same age as the actor that plays their dad...
Shame, I feel like it would have been more impactful if they'd cast a much younger-looking actor. It would have really emphasised the 'three generations killed' part of the tragedy, and how young some of the lives lost were.
Finally got around to watching this drama and loving it, but wtaf is up with some of the casting? Like the ML's brother clearly being 30+ years older than him in the flashbacks, at first I thought that was his dad, then thought the age difference would be a plot point and got kind of confused when characters kept talking about this guy like he's only a bit older... Also some of the supporting actors have quite noticeably had plastic surgery (the granny, for example), nothing wrong with that in general but kind of pulls you out of things in a historical drama.
So far great script, main cast amazing, but whoever was in charge of overall casting dropped the ball in a few areas imo
Anyway... i hve theory tht mu sheng also came from the real world, he might be her crush..or his crush.. or puppy…
I think he's the author. She said this book was really weak etc. compared to his previous works, maybe he got stuck in the book trying to work through stuff and that's why it sucked so much
Honestly I don't have high hopes for a kiss scene. The kiss scence between the other cp was just too bland that…
I mean Miaomiao at least is an adult, she lives alone and has a job... I think they were younger in the book but in this they're def not teenagers (and obvs the actors are both late 20s)
At what ep is the current arc concluded, does anyone know? I feel like I want to wait to watch the angsty bits until I can watch all the way through to the fluff...
