Episode 7: Hello, Truth! had nicely set-up the finale. This episode put to a close the school requirement of interpreting and dramatizing Benilda S. Santos' poem "Sa Kasintahang Nilimot Na." I will miss Miss Tina Moran -- she's definitely THE mood! The dramatization scene perfectly showcased JC's acting. In terms of acting, this is JC's strongest episode yet. On the other hand, Tony, undoubtedly the most popular Filipino (Pinoy) boys' love (BL) actor, was quite underwhelming in the dramatization scene. He was ok though during the opening scene when he, JC, and Gillian admirably portrayed the awkwardness of the situation. Since the school requirement's done, what's left needing closure are the relationships and characterizations in this series. Will XavMi end up together? How will Crystal be treated? Will KaiSeth's relationship show more progress? And will Junjun have his own spin-off series entitled "Hello, Junjun!"? Lol. We'll have to wait a bit longer for the finale which was rescheduled to August 16 (advanced screening) and August 19 (regular airing) instead of August 12. By the way, what do you think will happen on August 12?
It was announced by the production company (Black Sheep) that there will be a Hello Stranger: The Finale FanCon on August 16 (you can purchase your ticket at PHP99 at http://ktx.ph). It was also announced that the Finale will be on August 19 (not August 12). So what's going to happen on August 12? Your guess is as good as mine. Black Sheep is tight-lipped at the moment. It will be a surprise!
i know this may sound a hate message, but i really don't mean it. But why on earth they make this Marky's 1 man…
Not really a one man show although I understand you, why are they only promoting him in the poster? His partner in this series is JC Lopez. If you notice, Marky's name (Mark) and his best friend's name (Des) in this series are the same as in Truly Very Yours. So I asked the producers (JACE TV) if the two series are related and I got this answer: "Somewhat somehow?" with a smiley at the end so maybe they are connected?
From Executive Producer Perci Intalan: "When we started GAMEBOYS we vowed two things: that we will always be extremely mindful of safety and that we will not allow any limitations resulting from this to compromise the quality of our story and how it will be told.
As Metro Manila goes under modified enhanced community quarantine for the next 15 days, we decided to delay the release of GAMEBOYS episodes 11, 12 and 13 by two weeks as well. I know this will disappoint many fans around the world and I am heartbroken that we have to do this. But it will help us keep everyone on the team safe and at the same time we will not be limited in our storytelling. Ultimately, the episodes that we will release will be much better because of this.
They said 10 ep. then the movie. So we are waiting for the movie.
I was also surprised it reverted back to 10 episodes because I remember editing it to 13 episodes after it was announced. Anyway, I edited it back to 13 episodes which was approved by the editors so it's back to 13 episodes.
The last couple of days I tried to acquaint myself with the Kumu app in the hopes of appreciating a live and interactive series like Kumusta Bro?. But while I enjoyed the app [I watched the streams of some of the Filipino (Pinoy) boys' love (BL) actors], I still found it difficult to fully appreciate this series because of all the built-in distractions. Kumusta Bro? was made a bit interesting though with the entry of Dean in Episode 3: SAMbody 2 Luv. I found it hard to believe that Thirdy couldn't remember Dean, his high school schoolmate and 4th year high school classmate. Thirdy's younger than me but I can remember all my classmates from high school! Maybe it's just me? Dean's character is stalkerish yet also endearing in a weird way. Despite the mostly cheesy lines, I think Allen was able to portray the nervous Dean well. Bench was obviously jealous in an irritating way. Will Dean really get in the way of the Berdy ship? Well, that's for next week. Hopefully, they'll make the next episode a little bit more interesting.
It was announced that because of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in the Philippines, the premiere of this series is moved to October 2020. While I'm really excited for this series, I understand the decision of the producers. Safety first.

In a tweet, Briliant Juan, the Director, said that Season 1 will have 14 episodes and a Season 2 will immediately follow. Previously, it was reported in the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) that the series will have 10 episodes. Prior to that, it was 5 episodes. They keep changing the number of episodes. I'm just glad they have more episodes.
I super love Episode 10 but what happens now? Any guesses or theories for Episodes 11-13?
I'm actually worried how the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) will affect shooting the remaining episodes. Does that mean no face-to-face meeting again?
Agree! Just support both HS and GB. The only thing that is similar to both series is the way they filmed the material.…
This is a total misrepresentation. You should do a lot more digging. While my account started after Gameboys aired (it is after all, the FIRST Pinoy BL series) and I do post a lot about Gameboys especially on Fridays, I also post A LOT about other Pinoy BL series both in Twitter and here at MDL. I take time to review ALL episodes of ALL Pinoy BL series and you can check my MDL profile for that. I also support ALL Pinoy BL series by creating, editing, and updating the MDL profiles of ALL Pinoy BL actors and series. Check the MDL profiles of these actors and series to see who has the most edits. By the way, I confirm most of the information I post in the MDL profiles with the actors and producers themselves. So please don't spread your baseless opinions about my account.
I agree with that simple storyline but you failed to mention it though that what have been shown in the series…
First, I don't hate Hello Stranger, it's actually my second highest rated Pinoy BL series after Gameboys. I'm neither a hater nor toxic like you. Second, I promote ALL Pinoy BL series (I created, edited, and updated most of the profiles) and review ALL the episodes of ALL Pinoy BL series and you can check my profile and reviews for that. In particular, please see my review of Sakristan (wherein I tried to be as objective as I can) when I referred to Gameboys and Hello Strangers as better Pinoy BL series than Sakristan. You can also go to the profiles of Pinoy BL actors and series and see who has the most edits. And third, just because I promote ALL Pinoy BL series, that doesn't mean I should just praise ALL these series. Like what I've already shared, I come from the fields of arts and mass media and I review these Pinoy BL series based on these backgrounds. And based on my evaluation of these series, Gameboys, so far, is indeed the best and I justified my assessment in my reviews. Of course, everyone's free to disagree, we all have different backgrounds and perspectives after all, but don't accuse me of being a hater when in fact you're the hater who spreads toxicity here and in the Gameboys page.
I understand the frustrations on having two parts per episode. I think it has to do with maximizing the number of views and therefore, income for this series. So while I also hate it, I'm generally ok with it. But I totally agree with other commenters that fillers should be reduced! In any case, Episode 4: Kasagutan is my favorite In Between episode yet. The reason for the Tau-Otep break-up in Episode 1 was explained in this episode. Just for context for non-Filipinos, the Philippines was colonized by the US for almost 50 years and a lot of Filipinos still look at getting American citizenship as very important. Acceptance from friends, particularly Nicole, was shown in this episode. Dialogues were more natural and realistic in this episode. And the cast were all good in this episode. Migs (Tau), who I've liked since Episode 1, acted so well in this episode. So yes, minus the irritants (fillers), this was certainly a good episode. I'm excited to know what happens next to Tau-Otep's relationship as well as the roles of the new cast (Lance Justin Carr and Kimson Tan).
In a lot of ways, Hook Up is an improvement of Truly Very Yours. Hook Up had a more interesting plot/storyline with its reference to a dating app, improved acting, better camera shots, etc. But I had problems with parts of its screenplay for Episode 1: Findr, particularly the conversation between Lee and his best friend Des. Why was there a need to pressure Lee to clarify whether he's gay or straight (just a reminder, there's a host of other gender identities and sexual preferences other than gay and straight!)? Was it really necessary to force him to out himself? And in the conversation, Des subscribed to all those terrible gay (and bi) stereotypes! I was so uncomfortable all throughout their conversation. For "confused" teens like Lee, friends like Des are not really helpful. I wouldn't want a friend like her. It's a good thing the banter between Lee and Henry was generally cute (except the forced heterosexual nicknames Mami and Papi) which saved this episode for me. Given all these, will I still watch the next episodes? Just so I can see how Lee and Henry's relationship develops, yes, I'll watch the next episodes. The chemistry between Lee and Henry seemed really promising.

To our dear global GAMEBOYS community, we look forward to seeing you again in two weeks’ time. Until then, stay safe and strong, you will always remain in our hearts and minds.": https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157534291853946&id=601213945
