I think you should watch both scenes in reverse order 1st watch FL confessing to ML then watch how happy she looked while accepting the ring (ironic) , does it look like she is under pressure of societal expectations.
She is a character who can love at will.

It was funny when FL confessed her feelings to ML If whatever she said was true then why accept the ring from someone other than ML.... If she was so madly and deeply in love with ML ..... And why cry her eyes out for the Fiance during farewell at airport, when the one she truly loves is ML.

To score for viewship, the writer made FL inflict herself with misery.
I mean she doesn't like her job , she loves ML , she needs parents care and medical attention she lost all her intelligence at such crucial time in life and stays in US alone with the jerk fiance.

If she loved ML then why consider someone else for marriage, she could have given the rightful chance to ML from the beginning.
ML was also a coward to not confess after puberty during high school.

Yeah this is real shit show, even 8/10 is too much. Dynamics between the lead couples and the FL ,ex-fiancee is such a turn off.

I don't wish that FL dies it is a suggestion as to how this story may end.
Most of the people diagnosed with cancer die earlier than they are supposed to due to various reasons and this is a fact.

Get ahold of yourself every other person has been depressed at some point in life and even chronic depression is common in youth these days and it's curable Don't worry.

To tell you the truth , at first I shared my opinion and as you know I didn't like the show so my review was negative.

But fans here started bashing me for my review like I have committed a crime. Their hateful DM and abuse.
So I thought why not be the target for their hatred, let them feel powerful and superior.
Let's see how much can you hate. That's it.

I don't think FL here is able to truly love, she is self centric and gets attached to anyone making a move on her easily and gets detached just as easily leaving the fiance or ML in a conflict.

I just don't like FL and ML here and their loose characters.
The fact that it needs further explanation to understand their Psyche means the show is poorly made

FL should die in finale and make it easy for ML and his ex-gf (the deserving one) to get back together in a happy ending.

Hilarious, I had no expectations with this drama but it turns out to be one of the most favourite dramas for me.The rating and summary of drama doesn't do justice to this at all , it deserves much better rating 8.5+

You guys love these characters more than people in your real life ( mother, father , spouse , sibling ).
It's just a show for me while it may be a religion for someone, that why you get riled up.

Yup it's not worth it watching this drama

FL was not love with ML so she accepted the ring in US.
Or maybe she was in love with ML but didn't realised while accepting the ring. Which makes her opportunistic, greedy , confused , materialistic. Basically a gold digger.

She realised her love for ML after being treated as a burden by her fiance during her rehabilitation after cancer diagnosis.

She returns and goes to ML and our ML who long has realised his feelings for FL approaches her and she agrees to be with him because she loves him.
Or maybe she thinks that ML is a perfect fallback guy to be finally settled for in the end because trying to score better looking guys can turn her into a burden so why not aim for a consolation prize rather than first prize.

Even if she runs away from ML and has 5-7 boyfriends and 1 week before death she returns and says that she loves ML bcz they've been together since childhood, memories and shit and that being close to death makes her realise who she really loved in the end our ML is so generous that he will oblige such is his character.
