He worked in Switzerland for I believe it was two years? Around the same time that Samdal returned to Seoul and rebuilt her career, now under her real name. And then Yongpil came home to stay with Samdal in Seoul since it showed that he once again passionately argued with the published forecast in Seoul, talking to his colleagues who are back in Jeju.

And he let her go because he realized that someone needed to stay and look after her mom while she builds her career in Seoul, right?

Hi! By my understanding Yongpil came back to Seoul for good since it was shown to us how he was his usual self in Seoul office instead of his previous office in Jeju. I think its safe to assume that he was able to get himself more training and exposure in Switzerland and at the same time it took Samdal to rebuild her career and establish herself back in Seoul.

What I found confusing was that how her friends thought that Yongpil and Samdal broke up just because he up and left South Korea to pursue his dreams to work at WMO in Switzerland when Samdal clearly said that she would never leave him and that she would support him as he did with her.

This is my wishful thinking but can we have a Season 2 for this Drama? I loved the main characters and others so much I want to know and watch more of how their lives played out.

To be fair to him, his character had a redeeming arc in a sense that he didn't impose so much on FL as he did to the ML. I think he is actually a good friend and I can empathize with him going through a one-sided love for such a long time. I hope he takes Samdal's advise to move on and find his own happiness may it be in his restaurant, his success or find another woman to love. He deserves good things after all he had been through in his life, I think.

Very well said! Though I am not in the same industry as Samdal but I do my work well and as diligently as I could. And what you said is true, cutting corners does not pay off and you cannot possibly succeed if you haven’t put the effort, sill and knowledge to do what is expected of you when your given bigger tasks, bigger responsibilities relevant to where you are and what you want to achieve in your profession.

This could be the case. Your insights are great and had a blast reading it. This makes the most sense for their break up. But for ML’s father to be like this, I don’t understand how he could do this. It feels very selfish and stupid. I feel like there’s more to the accident than what FL’s mom let on.i think it is not entirely her fault and she’s trying to cover up or something for her good friend.

I agree with you that Yong Pil does care about Ko Mija as if she was his mom and not just because she is Samdal’s mom. But we have to take into consideration that the friend who thought this was the friend who tend to process things differently, and in his eyes he only sees one side. I expect better conclusion to be drawn by Yong Pil’s other friend though.

We can still dream right? I have met a man like him once, even planned to get married but it wasn’t meant to be. I am still hopeful regardless of what him, maybe not with him but with someone else.
