Qiao Chu was already licensed on January 9, 2026, but the public announcement of the license issuance was only…
If you were following the drama during filming, there were already weibo discussions about it having 24 episodes, but it’s hard to find the link now since that was last year.
Is is true overdo already passed the review? Or it still not? It's too early.
That’s not true. Overdo It hasn’t submitted an application for review yet. The previous news only referred to a production company change, not a review certificate. A production company change, a change in the number of episodes, or a change in the Chinese title is different from a review process.
A production company change does not mean the drama has been approved or has passed the review. The same applies to title changes and applications to change the number of episodes. I’m not sure why other Weibo bloggers keep tagging it as passed the review.
Just a reminder, don’t be upset if iQIYI International doesn’t have a fast-track for Express Episodes. The original network and production company are XiXi Pictures and Tencent Video, so they have the authority to decide whether iQIYI International will offer it or not.
Shine On Me airs only on iQIYI International, not on iQIYI China. This is due to the agreement between iQIYI International and XiXi Pictures/Tencent Video, the same as with Viki and Netflix.
Also, last year, XiXi Pictures and Tencent Video aired Reborn and Si Jin on iQIYI International, but they didn’t have an Express package either.
The date was officially announced on their Weibo:https://weibo.com/5822881647/QlK17B07h
I don’t think there’s any favoritism. The release date was just announced last night, and we were simply confused about why the date already appeared here before the official announcement.
1/4 - Overdo has passed censorship and will soon receive its license.Guys,I'm crazy rn🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂

1. The lighting and filters really saved what was honestly a pretty simple set. It creates visuals that appear refined yet still reveal a sense of simplicity, and simple yet refined at the same time.
2. The plot follows the original super closely. Other than some added light comedy, it’s pretty much the same like the original. Viewers who prioritize faithful adaptations will likely be very satisfied.
3. In terms of adaptation, the director shows very little personal narrative design. It feels more like it’s arranged in a formulaic manner, everything’s blended together, lacking layers and rhythm, which kind of wastes how rich the original story actually is.
4. The adaptation choices made to accommodate television audiences are of moderate effectiveness, however, the drama succeeds in presenting the main narrative in its entirety.
5. From a performance standpoint, the female lead provides the most compelling portrayal in the drama. She successfully integrates the characteristics of the donghua character with the live action role, ensuring that even exaggerated movements and narrative designs remain natural and never come off as cringey.
6. With the storyline being almost the same like the original, there’s not much to judge about the plot. However, not all of the actors fit the donghua adaptation acting style, and the exaggerated performances can very easily turn into meme material for fandom.
7. The CP demonstrates a satisfactory level of on-screen chemistry. Furthermore, the team’s promotional and supporting materials are creative and have a unique style, so it’s likely to pull in more hardcore drama fans.
8. At present, the volume of available promotional material is relatively abundant, and if everything goes as expected, there’ll be even more new material once it starts airing. We can look forward to unlocking more content.
