All my confusion about the one scene dissipated quickly, because with my level of concentration, I could only be confused about why this has a rating of "6.9"... Which is not bad, right, but how could it follow this film? ...
this is a "marathon or not", if you ask me
oh, and, don't even bother if you don't speak japanese ...or don't mind open endings, that works too in the end
what a weird coincidence that just a week after putting the manga in my current queue, I find this and finally feel like watching something... not even making a connection :D until I sweep it on MAL
but anyway, just wanned to say this time-slipping and psycho-iness is very much like Life on Mars, so a sure rec if you somehow haven't seen that yet (meaning UK ver, naturally...)
____________
PS: otherwise, about the first half of the first ep was absolutely stunning;
pity that after that it was just not... something
This is about... absolutely nothing. Has anyone seen Brideshead Revisited? That guy that took him an hour (of *viewer* time) to die? This is *worse*.
That's what makes it awesome. Well, aside from the visuals of food alien to you and utterly simple jazzy soundtrack.
If you like the kind of movies and TV shows that retrospectively make you feel better, yet questioning what did you actually see in that xxx minutes' time, go for it!
If you're currently searching for an interesting story, you're going to want to skip this one. If it comes to the shine of food itself ..it's on the medium scale.
Funnily enough, I think some of those shows where food isn't basically all there is get you more into the entranced-enthusiastic drive. Feel more satisfactory when you want to "watch food" and all.
(PS: Watch it anyway, you're going to love it. I said so. heh)
