I like it that they portrayed the gay couple as people with real feelings. This is a much more progressive show than most Cdrama, and that's a good thing.

Yep, the man is more armored than a tank. There are so many fantastical elements in this series that I've sort of accepted it.

They don't get together officially until the very end. But before that there's plenty of flirting, touchy feely stuff, and even a stolen kiss.

I haven't seen Vengo before this, either. He's ultra masculine, even with the pasty makeup they put on him.

Definitely bittersweet, because Date lost Kade 500 years later (present day) and had to spend the rest of that lifetime as a monk. Also Kade never got to see her mother and grandmother again.

Finally, someone calls out this irredeemable show for what it is. This is why I couldn't get into lakorns. Although they do have a few little gems.

Totally agree with you on the Candyland colors. Huang Yao Shi's flute looked like it's made out of silicon instead of jade.

Great point about Zhou Zhirou. She's a female Yue Buqun. By making her nicer, they ruined the character and the irony of the story.

9.1 is an accurate rating for this one, I think. People judged it as a whole. It's like a Dickens classic, takes a while to build.
