I watched the Tencent full version, and gave up in the last hour. This was an odd drama. City Lord Yin Ji was protagonist ML and antagonist second ML rolled into one. The writer probably had to consolidate two characters due to cost cutting measures. LOL Yin Ji couldn't make up his mind. He went from narcissistic personality disorder to pathetic lovesick puppy. I missed the scene where a brick fell on his head. Xie Yun endured the insults and degradation from Yin Ji and his Madam. The best scene was when she came out of her coma and slapped Yin Ji around. She should have walked away from Yin Ji at the end of the drama.
I just started binge watching this drama. City Lord and Wife are two of a kind. They need an attitude adjustment. So arrogant and condescending, they need to be slapped frequently. I feel for Xie Yun. I hope she has her revenge on them, but I am sure Yin Ji won't suffer for treating her badly. His attitude surely changed from four years prior when he was in love with Xie Yun. I am watching this drama after binge watching General Order last night. Cheng Yu Feng is a good main ML actor.
He was probably rushed, and looked disconnected. When filming a ten minute episode, there is very little preparation.…
I started enslaved by Love. He is such an arrogant *** in the drama. I'll add Two Foxes to the watchlist.
It must be the director not prepping the actors, The sound is not good either. They might have recorded live on set, and not bother to redub in the studio, to remove all the extraneous background sounds.
Checked this out because I wanted a light, no-brainer watch and also, I really like Cheng Yu Feng, however I…

just finished binge-watching and gonna leave proper review but heres a frequently asked spoiler just in case..…
I am puzzled about the ending. She went back in time, and met him before he died. Does it mean she will take him back to the future? He was very curious about the future.
I binge watched the drama last night. Tencent created a full version with all the episodes, with a runtime of 3:53:10 hours. The leads, Dai Yu and Su Ke, were very good. Lu Chen was comical, and Emperor Sun Duo was dull. The sound is not very good with some tinning sounds, but it was watchable.
Dramawiki cast list is longer. Cheng Yu Feng as Dai Yu Qiao Jing Wen as Su Ke / Su Wan'er Lu Ming as Sun Duo Jin Peng Bo as Han Qing Liu Xin Nian Li Ze Ming (李泽铭) as Lu Chen Li Zhen Xiao (黎振骁) as Xu Ming Lei Jun (雷俊) as Xiao Liu Yang Shu Yu (杨殊予)
How why did her BFF died for nothing? wtf? Her brother and her BFF was supposed to be together omg. He waited…
I was thinking the same thing about BFF's death. She should not have died. She was the most skilled martial artist and fighter. Ji should have been brokenhearted and wailing after the death of her best friend. Instead the writer and director focused on her sadness when Bai died. The brother finally found his mate, but she was taken away from him. She said she would protect him.
I am so glad that Youku dropped the final four episodes on the same day to put us out of our misery. 🤣
Prince Bai Sheng was such a waffler. He could not decide if he should be a full-time villain on screen. He hit rock bottom when he tried to molest Ji. He followed up with a ninja attack on the Prime Minister's soldiers, to save Ji. I was irritated with him full-time. Jing Chao would make a great main lead prince, but I doubt I would watch the drama.
Ji has an obsession dressing up in wedding dresses. This could be her fourth wedding dress in the drama. Surprisingly, Bai did not make her wear a Nanzhao wedding dress. She did not even wear her Father's Shu Red wedding dress that Yang Jinglan had recovered for her.
Director ran out of budget money to stage a wedding banquet... food and wine, guest payroll and wardrobe, and decorations. Crown Prince could have arrived before the ceremony to present the Emperor's decree. The guests would have been excited to meet him. The actor playing the Crown Prince is strikingly good looking. ❤
The death of Yang Ju Xian was so unnecessary. She was one of the anchors in the story.
Why were they wearing their wedding gowns if the wedding was the next day? I thought they were getting married.…
It would have been a better wedding day scene with the CP showing up with the decree right before the wedding ceremony. The Yizhou guests would have been excited to meet him. I guess the director ran out of budget money for food, payroll, wardrobe and decorations.

When I see three directors and three screenwriters, I start to wonder at the quality of the story.
It looks like we won't see this drama for a while. Perhaps 2026? Looking forward to seeing Zheng Ye Chen, Peng Xiao Ran, Li Xin Ze.
This was film almost two years ago, so hopefully, it is released in 2025. Looking forward to Cheng Yi, Xiao Shun Yao, Zheng Ye Cheng.
