Xingfu and Guan Tao are the two best characters in the drama. Xingfu's weakness is that she tends to act before thinking sometimes. The worst characters are Chuanglai and Lawyer Han. The others are mediocre. Officer Li stands out, among the crows. I haven't seen characters vacillate as much as Mr Wang and Mrs Wang Qinglai just follows their lead or Xingfu's. Old Wan likes to browbeat and reward. He burnt his bridges when he denigrated his old ally, Officer Li.

He's a supporting character, a lawyer at the firm that Sister Xingyun works at. So far, he is supportive of Xingyun and Xingfu's family. He becomes the Wang's lawyer, to help with Wang-Wan wars. XD

She was excellent in Mystic Nine, but that drama dragged 60% of the time. Her character was self-assertive. Fo Ye Zhang Qishan (...William Chan) had no idea what hit him. LOL

Once the drama starts to drag, I get restless and irritated as soon as the singer, off screen, starts singing in the middle of the episode. They already sang the same song in the previous episode, or at the beginning or closing credit.

The nicest character is Captain Li, the policeman. Mr Wan is a piece of work. He is very athletic for an old man, kicking Qinglai in the groin. That man is a benevolent menace. Sometimes, you admire him for his benificence, then you hate him for his crudeness. I knew they would target the Wan farm for their own prosperity. True to real life, taking away the villagers' properties for the greater good. Greed and superiority!

I agree with you. Normally, I do not like incomplete dramas, with subsequent seasons, but the Dream of Splendor story could be extended.

The old boys club, Prime Minister Xiao, Qi Mu, Lei Jing just faded into oblivion. They need to lose their jobs. Qianfan should be promoted to Minister of Security. Du should be Minister of Education. Even Chi Pan could be useful. Chen Lian should be head of the Capital Security Bureau. 😁😁😁

Duke Xiao just vanished off the drama after Pan'er visited him. The director could have shortened extraneous scenes, and filled in the loopholes. The Ouyang wrap up was meh. It seems that Yinzhang should become a criminal investigator. They do not show how, when, where and why she unraveled the Monk Servant's evidence. She just ran into the room, and produced it.

I finished the drama, a minute ago. Awesome feel good conclusion! I hope Gu Qianfan tortures Ouyang relentlessly before the execution. What happened to Duke Xiao?

Yinzhang saved the day. Her contribution to solving the murders of Ouyang's servants seemed very convenient writing. She did a lot of investigative work behind the scenes in a short space of time, LOL

I started rewatching TMOPB last week, after six years, and got through four episodes. I started Xingfu, and forgot about TMOPB.
