I think that Viki is getting bombarded with the C-dramas, that they can't match the pace. Some dramas sit on the shelf so long, the production companies could recruit local foreign language university students to sub the dramas in the meantime. The students could earn points toward their degrees.

Pacing in these lenghty costume dramas, means slow, meandering episodes. I have been waiting a year for a sighting of this drama.

I agree with you. Bai Yu and Zhang Ruo Yun are at the top of my C-actor list.

If the drama production chiefs could make an effort to trim the drama, and remove the idle chatter and filler and flashbacks, and pack all the flashbacking memories upfront, and dial down the singing volume and frequency, the end product might really be awesome and impressive, and competitive production-wise with western dramas.

I might reach 100, by the time that they air this drama.

Did you notice the wedding scene at the end of the end credits? Qin Xiao Man is wearing a wedding veil and and she is holding Luo Fei's arm. He is wearing formal black suit, and he is smiling. The coroner is wearing a white jacket. I hope the coroner is not the groom, even if he is handsome and cute. Why would he wear a white jacket, to upstage the bride?

In ep 5 or ep 6, Xiao Man showed up in her pajamas, in Luo Fei's apartment, when he was sick with the cold/flu/bronchitis. They make a nice couple, and the teamwork is perfect.

They are my favorite detective "team" since Inspector Lynley and Barbara Havers.

I have been waiting for Bai Yu for since Guardian ended. Luo Fei has become one of my favorite drama detectives. This is a very good drama with high production values. I love the acting, costuming and set designs, and the music is cinematic quality. The slo mo fight sequences should be deleted... not really necessary for the detective drama. Unfortunately, the Shanghai policemen keep getting killed, senselessly. They must recruit policemen every day, to fill thve void.

For the first time, the episode length is too short. This is one drama that could be very successful with 40 minutes' episodes.

I am watching him for the first time, in Golden Eyes. Nice work done in the drama.

Excellent K-drama! The best K-drama that I have watched in years! Yeo Jin Goo is brilliant, playing the dual roles of Clown and Mad King. His deep voice pitch resonates, and his physical acting is amazing. The casting is on point, but you walk away with only the imagery of Fake King or Real King, at the end of each episode. Let's give Yeo Jin Goo, a standing ovation. There are still eight episodes to come.
