The drama is based on a novel. It is an adaptation. The novel is more appealing to ages 30+. I'm guessing the…
Like i said i dont really care about the sexual dynamics, its the personal daily interactions im complaing about. The characters personalities were actually more reflected in the usual daily inetractions as compared to the sexual ones ( besides those can be reflected with some watered down romance things its nit that imposible) Im 21 yet the drama is not appealing to me. The age gap can be shortened its not a big deal, but see how they changed the major happenings, like after the sacndal Xingchen had the one with the Zhangfeimei where afterwards han ting asks her to be his girlfriend, thats the first time we see hn tings sharpness ( when he refused to do a second surgery on her, when he reminded jixing how they are a bussiness not a charity, when he explained that someone like zhnag feimei whos not willing to stand up for herlsef what if they do it gaian she goe sback to her husband again and the issue comes up will they do a 3rd 4 5th one again by that time wont xingchen die ) that was a good ooportunity to show his edges but loohh!!

I totally understand you and I really liked HT in the novel and everything that you said I have felt. However,…
Nah, a complex xharacter is always inetresting thats why in things like Lost you forever XiangLu despite not him being the one that ends with the female lead was voted as the most fan favorite. The other love inetrest Tushan Jing while lovely didnt even bring that musch fan favoritsm. Somone like XiangLU is not the ideal lover but why did fans love him? because he was complex and layered. Such dynamics can be portrayed. I just think the writers were incapable in that reagrsds. Lets leave Han ting aside thetrs shao yichen his presence in the novel is not much, but hsi relshp woth jixing is admirable, their love is evident even when they braek up. But this writers waters down their chemistry, focusing more on the Han Ting-Ji Xing storyline. They dont want to portray the Jixing with ith two significant love lines—thats how i know they are the usual conventional writers. Its oissible to show the female lead's relationships with all the male characters in her life, without undermining( i dont know the right word to use here) the love she had for others in the past.Someone said thats easier to do in historical dramas and not mordern and i just want to say, if the mordern drama Tell of Rose could do it? this couldnt ?

Rather than amplifying Ji Xing’s character (because they didn’t really change too much about her character),…
not really , i dont know if you watched lost you forever but if even a character like XiangLu with his mistreatment of the female lead and love at the same time could be made dreamy so much so that he was voted as the most favorite male lead i dont think its impossible to make Han TIng such a character witht making him a read falg. When it came to daily life and outside work and arguments Han ting always gave in to Ji xing, but outside work never, if they showed both dynamics i dont believe he would be marked as a red flag

I had read the book when it first came out and let me just say Im higly dissapointed in the drama version. Disclaimer its not about the explicit parts iaccept that. What im very angry about is the portrayal of Han TIng ( and no not the actor, Xukais greate) its the script. The drama script, transforms Han ting into a soft, lovesick puppy. In the books while he had a crush on Ji Xing, when he got to know she was dating and engaged he was not some heartbroken character as the drama wants to say he shrugged it off as bad timing and was willing to let it go. In the drama His sharp edges are sanded down, and his character depth is sacrificed for the sake of a more palatable narrative. In the books Han Ting is highly pragramatic so much so that he makes it clear to Ji Xing that he can not and will never prioritise Dongyangs future over her ( this should give you a glimpse of how uncompromising and sharp he is). Even when making company reports to his grandpa in the book he was never that soft. Hes grandpa would mention that the shareholders are dissapointed with him and he would reply then il get rid of them( see the roughness). He was so sharp such that even when his cousin bought off some shareholders they were still very timid when making complaints to him because they knew how ruthless he is. Hes nature was so much so that his parents, grandpa knew it, they said Han Ting was a good child but if its sth he doesnt want to do hell just listen but never do it. His feelings for Ji Xing were true but never overshadowed his professional demeanor nor his personal beliefs.Theres a point when Jixing asks him what hed do if XingChen was not his hands and she allowed his cousin to invest he replies that he will destroy it. When teaching JiXing and giving advice he was a strict mentor more than some soft lovesick teacher. And in the books when Xing CHen had a scandal with the Zhang Famei issue, Han TIng clearly refused doing a second operation on her telling Jixing clearly that it was bad for bussiness he noted that Zhang Famei that that kind of character whos conditions are not god, husband is not good, is not willing to stand for herself why should they get
involved, And when Jixing insisted saying she feel bad Han Ting reminded her coldly that one Zhang Fanmei never felt bad for her when her husband run amok and two that they are a bussiness not some charity and thats how the matter ended. It's clear the writers were more invested in amplifying Ji Xing's character than doing justice to Han Ting. While I appreciate Xukais and Tan Songyan's portrayal, the script is a major disappointment. If youve read the books and are coming here for the drama do yourself a favour and find sth else. If youve not its watchable. And incase your thinking about doing both, just choose one, dont let yourself get a heart attack from anger.
