I thought I saw that the rating actually went up to 8.6 earlier this morning? It fell to 8.5 again. But I don't see a lot of discussions going on. The haters really put in a lot of effort.

For viewers of this drama, I know this is not drama-related but Cheng Yi (Xie Huai An's actor) is facing a very distressing period right now. He's been experiencing constant threats, stalking, schedule illegally leaked, had his van forcefully stopped on the highway, and red paint sprayed onto his van with malicious words. These are criminal acts with the possible involvement of the black society. The ongoing harassment is far too coordinated and extensive for it to be done by ordinary people/Sasaeng fans. Even in China, on Weibo, the news is being suppressed. I'm putting it out here to hopefully get some attention on this matter 😭.

I'm also very shocked but to be honest there are a few cases before this. Yu Menglong's case is one of them and I feel so helpless about his case 🥹. Zhang Zhehan is another but fortunately he's alive and away from that industry now. The Zhang Zhehan incident is so obvious that someone is behind it. He became a threat to somebody. That incident was so huge with even some well-established lawyers seeking justice for ZZH but nothing was eventually done. These are all incidents that show that the C-entertainment industry has the involvement of powerful and terrible people 🥹.

Cheng Yi hates occupying public resources and worrying his fans. For his studio to release this, it must be very concerning. There needs to be more awareness on this for Cheng Yi to be "safer". Weibo is suppressing the trending topic. It's so obvious someone or a group of people are purposely doing this.

Oh and the person/people who did it dared to say "有本事去告我!" which means "If you're capable, come sue me!" Such brazen behaviour, the perpetrator(s) definitely has backers and are not afraid.

Well, to be honest, these harassment are most likely done by 黑社会/Black Society/Mafia. Spraying red paint and all those kind of intimidation and threats are usually the methods done by 黑社会. Not very likely that it's his company but it could be. The other celebrity isn't simply a celebrity either. He has a lot of deeper connections and backers that are very powerful. There's a lot of evidence on it too if you deep dive but it's all in Chinese. It's not simply fan behaviour but somebody actively paying money and involving the mafia just to ruin Cheng Yi. It's coordinated and not some simple fan attacks. Back then during Fu Shan Hai's massive hate campaigns, I stumbled across evidence that Cheng Yi's company Huanrui was colluding with that celebrity's people. Not sure if you know of the script incident but there's no way that the episode hasn't even been out for an hour yet and there's multiple black trending topics on Cheng Yi holding the script during the scene and being framed as unprofessional. This just shows that all these are coordinated, there are insiders involved.

For the recent criminal acts, it could be both sides colluding who knows. Many fans seem to believe that but these are all speculations currently. What is for certain is that these are not simple conflicts between fan circles but actual criminal acts now.

The Chinese entertainment industry is so terrible. Cheng Yi has been suffering and enduring silently for a while. About two weeks ago, while other artists have released their schedules and all that, Cheng Yi's studio said that Cheng Yi's schedule will not be publicly released. At that time, I didn't think much of it but it seems like even then, Cheng Yi has been suffering terrible harassment. A certain group of people tailed his car on the highway, sandwiching his car front and back to force him to get out of his car. in another incident, they even poured red paint on his car. These crazy people are not just targeting Cheng Yi but his family too. His studio released a statement as shared by @Eclipse02 below and it was quickly taken down from the trending topics list. Usually, this kind of news would have trended. It has received a lot of likes and reposts enough for it to be a trending topic but the fact that it only trended for less than an hour shows that someone is suppressing the news. I even come across some posts from yingxiaohaos and haters that Cheng Yi is faking these incidents. I'm speechless, are yall that lawless and disgusting???

Cheng Yi usually doesn't like to take up public resouces, he has mentioned that many times. For his studio to release such a statement, it must be really big and spiralling out of his control. It may be a call for help. Today they can spray red paint, what if another day they do something even more dangerous?? These behaviours are not simply the acts of Saesaeng fans but something bigger. These are criminal acts. There needs to be more awareness on this. I hope Cheng Yi and his family can be safe and that those terrible crazy people get punished by the law.

Edit: Upon reading more, there's definitely some insider involvement since Cheng Yi's schedule was not released to the public. Yesterday when the incident took place, Cheng Yi was on his way to a photoshoot for Liang Jing Shi Wu Ri's poster. Even the fans who come to see him at Hengdian did not know of this schedule and yet Cheng Yi's van was tailed, forced to stop on the highway, and splashed with red paint. How did the perpetrator(s) get information on his schedule? And the peepetrator(s) upon getting caught still dared to threaten the police, what kind of backing do they have?? No ordinary person is capable of doing this. It's definitely the involvement of 黑社会/Black Society/Mafia. And who are the people that hired the 黑社会? I am genuinely so scared and heartbroken, I hope Cheng Yi and his family can be safe and that the China police can do something about it 🥺😭.

Cheng Yi is currently still in the midst of filming Liang Jing Shi Wu Ri. He most likely will be finishing that before CNY and then he'll be taking a break, spending time with his family (most likely).

What the heck. I saw this on Weibo too. I am appalled. Are people that crazy? Can they love their own celebrities in peace and stop ruining other people's live!?!?! I seriously pray that they get caught and go to jail, and if they is someome behind them, I hope that person gets karma.

I don't think it's possible to be done by an individual but more likely by a group of them and it's coordinated. No wonder Cheng Yi has hired bodyguards around him during these few weeks 😭.

Yesss I really love all the lines in this drama! Many of them are so meaningful. This show is also worth rewatching, there's a lot of life values I learnt from it.

Rewatching some parts of the show and I really like this dialogue between XHA and CWZ in Episode 25. It's so poetic, though it may have lost some meaning when translated to English.

XHA: 天未亮，国师不提一盏灯吗 (The sky has yet to brighten, will you not take a lantern?)
CWZ: 不必不必 (No need no need)
CWZ: 我为良世当浮尘，天地自为我提灯 (I walk as dust upon this world, and naturally Heaven and Earth will bear the light for me.)

When XHA asked this question, he is trying to sort of test and confirm, in this broader scheme, whether CWZ is on the same side as him. “天未亮 (The sky has yet to brighten)" is referring to the current situation in Chang An where it is chaotic and the invaders, the Tiemo people have the overwhelming advantage.

CWZ's reply to that is that he walks as dust upon this world and he trusts that naturally, the universe/ Heaven and Earth will light up the way for him. "浮沉" means floating dust (dust that is floating in the air) and it can also be a metaphor for something that is tiny and insignificant in this world. "良世” means a good world. "提灯" literally means to raise a lantern but it can also mean "to guide". So what CWZ means is that in this chaotic era, he is willing to be like a speck of floating dust (not seeking any reward or benefit) for the peace of the country (a good world), and even though this path is dark and uncertain, he trusts that his strong faith and the universe will guide him. From CWZ's reply, XHA knows that CWZ is (sort of) on his side, for the country.

Haha this is what the drama is trying to portray, the country's crisis is bigger than your own personal grudges. But probably not everyone can and will put the country before their own problems.

I heard that he is a short drama actor. He did very well for this role! I hope he gets more roles in long dramas after this.

In this season, not yet officially together but they like each other. After her revenge, Zhao Lu (Sebrina's character) left Chang'An to go back to her hometown. At the end of the show, Ye Zheng goes to find Zhao Lu. Ye Zheng's actor mentioned that if there's a Season 2, Zhao Lu will definitely appear more.

Haha Cheng Yi is a natural at many roles, he somehow manages to look like whatever role that he is playing. I recommend Draw the Line, a law drama, if you're into law and crime genres! Cheng Yi's portrayal there is very convincing too!

Yes exactly! Everyone definitely has their own beauty standards/preferences but choosing to attack someone else based on looks just reflects how shallow they are. Sadly, Cheng Yi already got affected by all the cyberbullying in his earlier days, which is why he appears to be more "nervous", "careful", and "withdrawn" in variety shows and public appearances like award shows. He is more comfortable when he is filming dramas or during interviews where he is talking about his characters. He also rarely smiles with his teeth showing now unlike before 🥺. Fortunately though, his strong character and passion for acting still remain! As for Zhao Lusi, she is doing better now! Currently, she's still living with her friends and she's always surrounded by friends. She also mentioned in a recent livestream that she received some good scripts and is going to start filming again this year.

I understand you, I feel the same. It's so scary that some people can turn black to white. The Chinese entertainment industry is serious done for if such a hardworking, honest, talented, and kind actor is forced to retire due to manipulations and cyberbullying. May the truth always prevail and that Cheng Yi continues to shine ❤️.

She's a guest role, starring as a seamtress that came to Chang'An for revenge. She is the love interest/crush of Ye Zheng (one of the main supporting characters).

As I said, no definite answer. It's not like they showed him dying with a corpse. There are hints that he is alive but it depends on how you interpret it.

It is his voice but personally for me, I interpret it and prefer it that he died in the fire. It's quite sad if he's imprisoned and away from his friends.

There's a special ep after the last episode and it's an open ending? Some people think that the character that was shown in the special ep is Cheng Yi's character but the face was not revealed.

Whatever the rating is, it's not going to stop me from coming back to rewatch this drama. Although this drama may not be the best drama ever but anybody with eyes and a functioning brain can tell that this drama is of great quality in terms of acting, plot, soundtrack, and more. I've rarely come across dramas that have the entire crew acting so well. Even actors/actresses that appear for only a few episodes did their best to portray their role. I will continue to support this drama by rewatching it and sharing it with the people around me.

Yeah I am shocked. The video that I watched showed a lot of evidence and I can't believe people would actually plan and coordinate these attacks, it's crazy. Like they even got people to impersonate and go undercover as Cheng Yi's fans, like some haters will go on Weibo and follow Cheng Yi's account and interact with Cheng Yi's content for months to appear as a fan of Cheng Yi, and then they will use these accounts to hate on other fandoms/actors/actresses and also release apology letters to make it seem like Cheng Yi's fans are problematic and garner hate for Cheng Yi. Like wth???

I really hope those haters will get bored and leave him alone but it seems so highly unlikely. But I'm glad Cheng Yi has a strong character and as long as he is filming a drama, he's happy.
