Despite the castration of the series from all intimate scenes contained in the BL novel, this did not ultimately save the pair of main actors from being banned from appearing in public together and performing together in movies or any TV shows.
They played their roles beautifully in TU, they showed feelings (also in all BTSes) although without intimacy, it was the reason some obsessive fan wrote a disgusting to these actors fan-fic that unleashed all the cyberbullying and said incident and now we have what we have.
You are right and I am right– it depends whether you go to the original source or to the closest one. This is the whole logical sequence that started with the series and these particular actors. The rest of it followed - like dominoes.

I have the impression that the female role we are writing about was much easier in historical dramas than in contemporary dramas.
In the last few dozen modern dramas I've seen, FL has had to flip over and fall for ML to save her, or flip over so she can fall right into ML's arms.
Seeing this situation again and again makes me sick.
Why spread and perpetuate such an image - an illogical and clumsy woman who, left to herself, will probably die of stupidity - in her country and show such an image of a Korean/Chinese woman to the whole world?

I just have one remark: labeling whether someone is gay or not (also other gender identity) is slowly losing its meaning these days because everything is becoming quite fluid.
Kazuma has been and is with only one man. He never tried or sought out other men (during this period 10 years). Only his past and present are known, the future is not.

In my opinion - being a man - I don't have to be gay to fall in love with another man and be with him. It's a subtle difference and I can feel very well what Kazuma said and I don't see any homophobia here.
For instance: today I love a man and what will happen in the future - life will show.
More and more - the appearance, property, height, age and even sex of the person we REALLY love - become secondary in the face of true Love.
