Just wanted to share a thing that in my country its very common for girls/boys to address elder male strangers and acquainted ppl ( like neighbours, cousins of far relations , seniors in school etc) as brothers (not using names instead smt like gege/bhaiya/oppa/hyung ) throughout their childhood, but later when they come of age parents without any hesitation marry them off with e/o (arranged marriages) or they start liking e/o after puberty and get married (happened in my own family twice ,its complicated to explain but they married in their own family tree ) their love started as siblings but turned into romantic. I found it pretty wierd and unexceptable but over time it started happening so much that I got used to these type of childhood cousins/friends/ family friends getting marriedstarting a family.( Like I have been warned a couple of times to not think abt marring some ppl in our family bcuz we r closely related , it made me uncomfortable bcoz I never intended to do so in the first place) So my point is its a very cultural thing that how we look at a certain relation, different ppl different ethics. ( There's this saying in my place: pehele bhaiya bhaiya fir saiyan saiyan Meaning - previously u called him "brother brother" , now u call him "honey honey" 😂that s actually so real )
