This is the main reason why qian was against a relationship with yuan ( I just realised it properly now , if u guys already knew it I feel like a turtle) after reading some part of the novel again , before the first kiss , we r hinted abt the SA qian has been through from his mum (even in the series) , if we look at it from a different perspective qian had been a victim of incest (I dont wanna use this word but it can't be helped bcoz idk till what extent she went ) and all this time , those 3 years when yuan was away , when he came back (still in love) qian was worried and was doubting himself he despised his mother to the core & never wanted to be like his mother even to the tiniest bit . He was forced to think that getting together with yuan in an intimate relationship will make him seem like his witch mother He was doubting his principals till the very end but when yuan assured him " i love u , more then as a brother , i want to take care of u all my life , i want u to relie on me ,will u let me do that ?" That's when qian realised the love he and yuan shared has nothing to do with what his mother did to him the witch USED HIM to satisfy her needs , yuan is different and he is different too they love eachother its all concentual even more its what they WANT . yuan did not know abt qians mother and her deeds ,his love for yuan was not being reciprocated until qian sorted his thoughts out . This also makes the pase between the 1st kiss and getting intimate justified Thank god qian realised his feelings and over came his trauma ( I wanna kill that dead witch again) Ps. Am always open to any other opinions and POVs
I really loved this drama the acting, the plot, and the script were just on point.But one thing that kind of disappointed…
Am seated for a s2 but I don't want them to have anymore problems in life , but to make a series u need a problem right ?? May be yuan's parents come back ? Or qians dad or they could make a new series with them as the 2nd couple and feed us with their chemistry. Aaaa am so desperate.....

Yuan asks qian that "now what ever we r going to do is what u want , but i dont want u to just accomodate me ...."( implying that if the feelings r not mutual he does not want qian to push himself ) but before he could complete his sentence qian pulled him in for a kiss . This make it clear that qian also wanted to get intimate with yuan .
