Not liking a film you saw is totally ok, but spreading hate without any reason when you haven't seen it, is not ! Clearly that's someone pitiful with a sad life.
Personally I'm a big fan of Tsui Hark and wuxia, and negative reviews and box-office score don't affect my judgement. I'm just waiting for it to be released in my country and I'll make my own opinion. Though, just by looking the trailers and bts, I can see that it's probably at least a nice movie, not deserving haters.

It's best to ignore them. They are cherry picking negative reviews and ignoring the positives ones. I've been reading people opinions on XHS and 99% of them like the film, even non-fans of Xiao Zhan. It has almost gain 500M, so it's a big success.

It's a Tsui Hark's film, it has more chance to be released than others. Just check if his previous films were released in your country or not, like the Detective Dee trilogy.

It's inspired by Pu Songling's short story Painted Skin. But it's very short, a few pages (you can find it on internet if you want to read it), and obviously the story is much more expended for the drama with an original script and characters. There are also 3 films adapted from the short story (I saw 2).
I finally finished this drama... I really loved it from beginning to end. The cinematography is the best I have ever seen in a serie, even films rarely have this stunning aesthetic. The costumes are incredible ! The characters are great and they all have interesting stories and evolution, even the minor characters. The acting is impeccable, I can't believe some are not professional actors/actresses ! (special congratulation to the child). The OST is so good also. And I really like the subtext, the philosophy of the plot . That being said the show is not totally perfect, the plot is sometimes chaotic and some scene are too dragging (though unlike some, I didn't mind at all the slow pacing). But overall it's very good and I recommend it. I already miss the team, I wish their adventures would never end !
