they have failed at basically everything... And still they have the determination to keep going... That is willpower, that is strength. Besides if you really want to get technical the Korean war never officially ended. So Korea still has a chance to Unite under these circumstances, and to prove it can be a good super power... But History is what happened in the past, and doesn't rely on What if's... So Korea > Japan :P I'm biased so sue me :)

I'm not saying their above. I'm just pointing out they have the higher moral ground, because of not having the opportunity :P And there's no guarantee if they had the power they WOULD fall into the mistake every other country has. They could be the one country that's part of the 1% :P But I agree we both disagree on this subject :)

and them not having the opportunity is a gift sent from the heavens :) History is all about WHAT DID happen. It's not about WHAT IF's... That's alternative history.... Japan/China/Russia/US all became strong, but isn't it funny that they ALL took the same route? Given a choice none of these countries have taken a moral high ground instead they all decided to attack other countries ruthlessly... You can call Korea weak all you want... But I like the fact they still have something of a soul left. And I'm thankful the universe never gave them the opportunity to become imperialistic ^_^

Yes, but the Universe hasn't given them the opportunity! Maybe they would... Maybe they wouldn't... WHO KNOWS! The only thing that is known is that Japan/US/China/Russia have all taken the imperialistic route! Any one of them could have said no, but they didn't! History has brought up Korea as not being able to do so which means they have no temptations. Which means they have more of a moral high ground... Korea will always have support for their continued determination over the millenia. I don't care if they haven't united. I don't care if they're considered weak by everybody else. To me they're not weak. It's just that lady luck has now smiled upon them like it has the other superpowers...

Well then we agree to disagree after all every single country in existence has a shelf life... Rome had a short life. China has always been up and down throughout its life... America's shelf life is the same as Rome's... Japan had a shelf life and then got reborn like a phoenix... Japan was imperialistic that treated it's colonies like crap...... Korea has/had determination... They haven't taken over another country EVER. They have NEVER been the occupiers... That right there puts them at more of a moral high ground than a hell of a lot of other countries... I don't care if they ultimately failed to unite.

They're different today than what they used to be. I can agree with that, but they aren't THAT much different. Maybe Korea would have gone power hungry if they had that much power... BUT History has brought up Korea in a different light. Sure they have done a little bit of imperialism to regain lost territory, but that's about it... Over 900 invasions. Attacked by China/Russia/Japan. Attacked by the US if you include the North. Almost obliterated by the Khitan army. The Mongols ran them over... Countless internal strife, and civil wars... Very few people trying to unite the country as a whole, and when they do start to succeed everything starts to fall apart -_-
This is why I like Korea. True underdogs. I'm not saying Japan is bad or anything like that... They are one of my top 3 countries, but I prefer Korea more...

There are parts of it's history I don't really like. I despise them invading Korea (Multiple times). I liked the edo, Hein (sp) and Meji eras, but I don't really like the fact that Japan was so imperialistic. I like rooting for the underdog which is part of the reason I'm attracted to Korean history. They have pretty much always been the underdogs with over 900 invasions in it's 4k year history... They have never been truly united as a country despite numerous attempts to do so... AND they have yet to win a major battle to this day... What battles they have won were short lived. This IMO is the definition of the word underdog. Everybody here in the states generally thinks America was an underdog in it's development, but it wasn't..... Korea is the only one that fits this bill which is why I root for them... Oh and they have the most majestic womenz :)

Then disregard what I say :P It's not like it matters much anyway. My personal experiences always get disregarded and thrown away :P Though none of this would have been said in the first place if such (Multiple) experiences hadn't of occurred in the first place... Blame the Universe :P
