I may be wrong. but the gist I got was that ML wanted her to make sure FL doesn't let go of him easy with the divorce ( his reason being he wants her to find a reason to live) and FL saying that she signed the divorce papers but she decides when and how she will submit it ( in a sense that she won't let go of him until she gets her so called revenge of making him suffer through the divorce) but the moment she got her memory back she had enough and wanted a divorce right away. which is why I think it's shown as a big thing and why he was a lot more in pain. Again I may be wrong in my interpretation.
