What kind of ending is that? It's quite disappointing. Why can't the drama keep Lu Ji and Wen Ji alive? Like they did live happily ever after after his return from the war but the way it end in episode 40 is very very disappointing.
SYR is a coward and a total loser till the end. Rather than facing punishment, he decided to kill himself. Even if he will be reborn as a noble in the next life, i wish he will get paired with the princess Wanning immediately.

Does this drama has love triangle? The poster has 2 ML. From the short videos I saw on YT, this seems interesting but if there's love triangle, I'm not going to watch it.

XFF trick Wanning on her pregnancy just to tarnish her reputation just like what Wanning did to XFF on the first place. I guess why some viewers say it's cruel because XFF stab where it hurt the most which is Wanning cannot conceive a child anymore (but XFF did not know about this, she just want to ruin Wanning reputation)

Among all the minister in many historical drama that i watched, this is the first time I saw a minister (the bad guy) didn't have a house.

Princess Wanning backstory, no wonder she became crazy. After experiencing all the abuse and treated less than human while became hostage to the anemy country, no sane women will be able to maintain her sanity intact. The statement "villain is made not born" is true for her case.
I'm not justifying her current action but i do pity her fate unlike the total jerk SYR (why this jerk still alive??).
I wonder what would happen if she finds out her pregnancy was falsified, either she went total berserk or kill herself.

He doesn't even has qualm killing XFF and all Xue family members. XFF even said in the episode 1, if SYR want to leave her, he can just write a divorce letter and she will leave. Saying princess Wanning will destroy them all if he didnt kill her is just a lousy excuses.

Seriously? She never thought the reason why the princess commands the her and her daughter to kill XFF? smh...
