Review My Stand-In
I so agree with yoyr review or statement. Yes, absolutely, there were some moments when behavior went beyond toxic to downright evil. The thing is that our hearts can override the red flags we see and feel. That is what happened here. The thing is that is Joe had just run away, show over. One episode, all done. This show delved deeper into all of the relationships of the various characters. That is a tall order for one show to accomplish. I believe that they did meet this goal. I would probably never want to be with someone who knocked me out, tied me up, and nearly ruined my career. The problem is I say that as someone who has lived many decades longer than our main characters. I bring a lifetime of experience to the question at hand. What if I were the characters' ages? I know myself. While I probably would not have made the exact same decisions, I cannot be sure. Also, I am very big on second, even third chances. I do believe that the reincarnation portion could have been shot better, more succinctly, more clarity. For me, this would have shown me how desperate the characters were to succeed in their fields. I remember when I first entered the film, TV, and eventually live production careers. I took a lot of, well, you know. Being at that bottom rung of the ladder and then seeing that others have made it to where I wanted to go pushed me to take chances on people.

I do believe that if viewers push through their doubts about this and watch it until the end, some of these viewers may be surprised at their final thoughts on the show. As stated in the above review, if these issues are too much for you to sit through, go to another show. There is NOTHING wrong with doing so. If a viewer does push through after initial doubts, share what worked and did not work for you. We all have different tastes. No one is right or wrong about this sort of thing. And, this is not all that critical in our lives. It is television. So, try it or not. No wrong answer. I just believe that some viewers will have the reaction I did. Part of it was uncomfortable to watch. Other parts are quite romantic and just fun. Let us know your thoughts on this should you finish it.

I just finished this series. The review above captures this drama quite well. It is always a dicey gamble when presenting abuse and then same sex love within a "family." The writer and director did these tough subjects justice. As the review states, the abuse is shown in dramatic fashion without any exploitive feel to it. The series then goes on to illustrate that a family really is what we decide it will be. I have the most amazing family. We were loved and we all love each other. At the same time,my parents, way back decades ago, helped us understand that there are all kinds of families. In the mid 1970s when my parents basically brought me out and helped me understand that as someone who was gay no one else could define a family for me. It was for me to do. They encouraged all of the way. I made sure I approached this series with that in mind. I found nothing repulsive or incestuous about the romantic love that develops. It felt plausible. No, more than that, it felt real. The writer also widened the family out of the main home and into the business, the friends, even the gang. I watched this series in one day. I am happy I did. Give it a shot. You might be surprised at how real this feels.

I am with Rowan75. Your review got me to watch this fun, silly, tough to figure out outrageous, and at times near tragic train wreck. I have been laughing so hard. This is a trip. The character Pony reminds me of a young Carol Burnett. Fun time...

Excellent review. I did not know about the movie until I read your review, thank you. I am with you on everything. The young actors are solid in all episodes. The direction is tight, as is the editing. The writing is (as far as I can tell through subtitles) crisp. For me, an English speaking viewer, the multilingualism and code-switching that happens in the Philippines, besides a marvel of the human brain, allows for a deeper appreciation of the sentiments that the characters are expressing. This is quite enjoyable.

Your words perfectly describes that feeling i know all too well :')
You are so right. The feelings of grief are universal. We all have to experience these, what I call traumatic, feelings. They change us. The thing is that for me, I would miss them or never realize the love I had for someone, if grief were to just no longer exist.

Seriously, one of the best reviews I have read from any source, like top 5. I am including the reviews of The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Times (London,) and The Guardian (London,) The San Jose Mercury (California,) Berliner Zeitung (Berlin,) and others. This is not hyperbole, it is just fact. Your writing is expansive in the most positive sense. How you walk us through the story without really giving too much away is a Rae talent. I had this on my "Plan to Watch" list. I then went back to read any reviews. I would say that withing about 30 seconds of finishing this review I was watching episode 1. Thank you, sharing your talent is a gift to us.
