An extremely good drama with a great storytelling, compelling characters, and a dedicated cast. I'm glad I knew the identity of the "big bad boss" before our protagonist, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of watching until the end.
Kudos to to everyone involved in this project; I will definitely check out their other work.

Oh, I agree with you. Of course, everyone has their own opinion. Personally, I don't care about any ratings, whether on this site or anywhere else, but when people spend a lot of time writing comments on something they dislike, rather than something they actually like.. well, that's obviously not a reliable opinion. 😉

I was bothered by the director's overly slow and dramatic style, but once you get used to it, it becomes somewhat tolerable. I might give "The Double" a second chance now. 😅 Fav characters: LiCe, General Huan.

It’s chaotic at the beginning but it gets better after 4/5 episodes, The story is very dark and most of the characters are morally corrupt. They’re selfish and care only about their own gratification. I don't want to spoil it for you, but they portray kings and queens in a realistic way; I hope you understand what I mean by that. 🙂

I think the story is very dark for the average audience. The majority of cdrama viewers now are used to light comedy, tacky romance and tons of makeup. This is not the case here. Most of these characters are evil, rotten, selfish and care only about their own gratification, kings and queens are presented in a very realistic way, they are murderers, rapists, and even …pedophiles. There's some crazy shit here and it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

I really wanted to like this for the sake of my girl Jinmai but it’s just beyond boring!💔 The only good thing about this drama was Xiguang and her cousin.
