I don't think so, one side of people hates him, one side of people upholds him (I don't know which side you are on) and why can't he become ML and only become SML? His performance and good acting are proof that this drama has him as an ML instead of SML, people see with the eye for performance and ability and not hear ridicule, so you don't have to worry too much about it. because the main character was given the director for him and not from us for him.
actually the funniest part of this drama is when these two main characters are together, whether they're talking to each other, hitting each other or even solving cases together, there are still funny things that make me laugh. especially in episode 7 when LongAoYi and QingLiu back and forth back on the same road while looking for dongzi ... really so ridiculous and funny .... i really like this drama ... their chemistry is good too.

I actually prefer the ML character here, even though on the outside he looks a bit arrogant but he is smart, classy and more charismatic than SML who became a prince but his character is not that authoritative in my opinion and they should describe a prince character who is more charismatic considering him is from the royal family, but yes as you say it depends on each person.
please stop giving your negative arguments about ML just because you are a SML fan, actually I feel ML acting is good here, and there is no problem with him, but many put himsel f in a corner just because they might be SML fans after watching his recent drama This, sometimes actors who are just airing their dramas will feel fresher in the mind and become one-sided idols and ignore others.
