They probably think wearing makeup makes men weak and look down on women wearing makeup. I do wear makeup to work sometimes, I am sure people like these think I can't do my job just because I am wearing makeup. Ironically this drama is supposed to be about a woman's journey from being great in fighting, breaking the glass barrier and become a military general - all wearing makeup btw.

Yes. There is too much staring at each other going on. I mean I get that the ML actor is a looker but there are too many scenes where they are talking about how good looking he is or show him walking in slow mo with the OST playing. Also you can watch the entire show in 1.25x and not miss much. Just the work stuff was fast which not many would want to watch or pay attention. I watch them only because it is related to my field and something I am interested in.
Checked the cast and it has so many short drama actors like Richard Li, Zhao Yi Qin, Shu Tong and so many known faces but I do not remember the names. I have to give it a try at least for them being cast here.
I made the mistake of reading parts of the novel and I am so grossed out. So anybody thinking of reading the novel, please don't. The novel has them at 30 and 18 year olds. The way the guy is literally called as little fresh meat is so creepy. I couldn't even watch yesterday's episodes.
All I can say is, the show has improved on the source material. the breakup was necessary and it gave the ML time to grow into his own as a fully grown adult instead of the college kid he seems to be in the novel.
Good to know its his own voice. I quite liked the OST he sang for another drama - Love Amidst a snowstorm. For anybody interested about the songs here goes:
Does the ML character have a different voice actor here or Daniel Zhou has done the voice too. I see that the FL and Cheng Rui have voice actors credited in the Cast & Crew section. Anybody knows the answer or where to check? Thanks
Finally caught up with the drama and I am quite enjoying the episodes. I thought the age-gap would be make uncomfortable but the way they showed it was quite natural and not weird. I was more skeptical about the power imbalance with one of them being an orphan and the other having everything but the FL seems oblivious to his feelings about her so it works for me.
