I've seen this kind of debate many times.. and here's my take..
what I see from gjm's drama is that he really likes to explore a lot of dynamics between characters, and this is what I like about his works.. I'm not a fan of stories that focus too much on romance, I like it when the story also has chemistry with other characters (in various dynamics) and gives a variety of colors and flavors... the story becomes more meaningful and we can enjoy the plot from various points of view ... if you watch at least 3 of gjm's works you will probably understand what i mean..
And.. if you like a specific dynamic between characters, you can always find the right forum to discuss it..
