I watched another drama with the ML with face blindness a while ago, so it's not new. The full moon menstrual cycle transformation like clockwork is funny. I am guessing that they are looking for the same medicinal thing to cure their respective diseases. Too early to confess their motives to each other!

Thanks for mentioning the inordinate amount of closeups. It is exaggerated filmmaking, and does not prove the actor's acting skills.

The poor maids had to clean up the mess everytime.... and the wasted food. The palace servants and guards probably never got to eat proper food.

I agree about the Dai battle. There was no strategic planning since this was a border invasion. The director jumped right into the confrontation with Dai, and Duke Su was the last man standing. All his men died. Was Great Zhao in the north, that they could not help with the southern invasion by Dai?

The director spent more time on Shen Yurong, than Duke Su.

It would appear that all the soldiers, who left the Yan palace with Duke Su to fight the Dai invaders, died. Only Ji, Ji and Su remained to fight the Dai king and his soldiers. So sad!

I was relieved when WN and SYR died. No tears there, but when Wen Ji and LU Ji died, and Mr Jiang qnd XFF were talking about JL, I was sobbing.

This was my daily go-to drama for the last few weeks.

I think they should have reunited in the same frame. No social distancing ending!

I thought the female villain in Mysterious Lotus Casebook was over the top in terms of villainizing, but Wanning takes the grand prize.

The little scenes were disjointed. It felt like XH and JL were rambling. The writer did so well throughout the drama. He could have come up with a better plot for one scene, five minutes in length.

Same here! I was weeping when Ji and Ji died. Ep 40 final scene on the hills (LOL) was vague... no surprise there. It was a letdown, compared to the meticulous drama plot planning. The 40-5 episode looked like an afterthought, and the short scenes were disjointed.

They are delulu. 🤣🤣🤣 It's not as if there is a followup season 2, 3, 4, etc., like western dramas. They could conclude the story with a happy or sad end.

When Xiao Heng combed her hair, and vanished into thin air, I thought he was a spirit coming to say goodbye to her.

They were the highlight of the plot, in addition to the scenes with both Jiang Li XFF and Xiao Heng.
