Another senior eunuch bites the dust. I think Jing Shi's ally, Eunuch to Jing Yan, is dead by now. That position must have the worst job security in the palace.

The time really flew fast on this drama. I started a few days late, but it's been moving along daily.

First Emperor must be squirming in his grave at the following developments;

Second Prince sitting on the throne.
Empress promoted to Empress Dowager.
Murong Zhong, the new arch villain
Conspiracy between Empress and Murong
First Prince "assassinated" by Murong Zhong and Murong Yao,and later still alive.
Favorite Daughter turning into crazed mistress of Jingxui Emperor

LOL The writing in on the wall.

I can see Princess becoming an aggressive wife, and Emperor becoming a passive husband.

Second Prince is now motivated after his job promotion. LOL I finally looked up his name, Feng Cheng Yang. I wasn't paying attention before. Actor Ding Jia Wen looks fifteen years younger.

It is very likely he will remain as Emperor at the end of the day. The director and writer are setting up his career objective in ep 32.

The Storm Alliance segment is boring. After they saved Feng Sui Ge, they are planning to kill him. Waste of film budget! The senior Storm Alliance chief is acting like he's Emperor. Actor's emperor roles are paying off.

Xia Jing Yan has that baby face that makes him look charming. Then he turns on his evil switch. He's out-acting Xia Jing Shi in the emotion category.

Does Susha Emperor know that his brother is still alive? Did Murong inform Empress Dowager that Feng Sui Ge's body vanished, and did she update Emperor ?

SG and XY They became the old boring couple. XY can get a job to cure amnesiac patients. Getting stabbed in the shoulder was overdone, but effective. These characters are resilient. They have guts of steel. I had to run ep 31 and 32 on 2X speed.

I think she and Dr Ling had a relationship in the past. They also have the same sense of dry humor.

He likes being beaten up by her.

I might be wrong but Murong Yao might kill his father, and die in the process. He looks hesitant about Murong's masterplan.

He's the prettiest face on screen for most of the episodes.

He was a popular movie actor. He even made a Hollywood movie, which did poorly at the U.S.A box office. The original lead female was a top Chinese actress, but the project was delayed, and she dropped out. They recast a Caucasian actress as the FL.

I saw it burnt into the episodes a few years ago. It is blatant when it is a costume drama. The worst thing is when they have blatant product placement in the drama. There was a K-drama that had Subway foods and restaurant location or logos in every episode. Viewers complained to the production company. I stopped watching Kdramas years ago. I don't know if they curtailed the practice.

This might not be the first drama where they killed the Head Eunuch. The job security can turn on a dime. He was slightly temperamental but a loyal employee.
