In my decade of watching kdramas I can confidently say this is the only one that hasn't had a single filler scene. Like thats insane to me...props to the team!
Also one of the most beautiful on-screen chemistry I have ever witnesses between a couple. Just beautiful ❤
Hi guys I have a question if someone could please clarify
A lot of people on Twitter are predicting that Saeon himself sent Hong Ina those DNA results so she'd back out and he could marry Heejo. But I thought the show kind of hinted that it was Hong Ina's Dad who did it? Or did I miss something
His warm lips briefly met hers before pulling away. “You are my love.” This time, he kissed the corner of her eye. “All the love in the world is here. What more explanation do they need?” Heeju’s nose tingled with emotion, and her voice quavered. “But… what if the cheeky one asking that is our child…?” “Then I’d say, ‘Look at your mom.’” “…!” “My answer will always be the same, Heeju.” As he gently pinched her blushing nose, his voice faltered, as though grappling with something profound. “All the answers have always been with you.”
Posting a snippet of one of the chapters of the WTPR novel here, I especially loved these two bits 🥺❤
"Oppa, if a child asked you what love is, what would you say?” “A child? Asking something so cheeky?” He scoffed, though his tone quickly turned serious. His gaze flitted from the crimson koi to the deepening hues of the sunset. At some point, he bent over, tapping the side of the tank in concern. “The water’s too murky…” he muttered to himself, oddly gentle. After a long pause, he finally spoke again. “I don’t know who’d ask me such a thing, but…” He brushed her cheek with one hand, the setting sun casting a warm glow on his touch. The redness of the light seemed to soak into his fingers. “I’d tell them to look at you.”
This show got me out of my what feels like 10 year long kdrama slump. I think the last romantic kdrama I genuinely enjoyed was CLOY. There was CLOY...and now there is WTPR. It's nice to see a show where the romance progresses believably, the dialogue is neither stunted nor dragged, the story is gripping and answers to questions do not get dragged on and on and on but are answered relatively quickly.
It's not perfection by any means but it's genuinely such an enjoyable show. I've been tired of dropping kdramas past few years where either there is a TSTL ML or an ultra feminist (and not in a good way) FML and the side characters take up too much screentime and like a gazillion other annoying, off-putting things.
THIS show is a breath of fresh air. Not to mention the chemistry and story the two characters share is so fricking beautiful!
Just a man and a woman deeply in love, in a silent marriage. She just craves the love and affection she never received throughout her whole life, and he, a man so broken and emotionally constipated, will go to any lengths to give it to her. Because she's his baby <3
Does anybody with sign language knowledge can tell me if in the scence with the foreigner lady they spoke a foreigner…
HeeJoo nornally uses KSL (Korean sign language) but in that particular scene she was signing in British sign language :) Soo Bin talked about this in an interview of hers, about how she had to learn multiple kinds of sign langauge for the role.
I wish we got something spicy, because their chemistry is genuinely one of the best I've seen (and it's normal…
Nooooo I thought kdramas in recent times have moved away from the dead fish kiss plus this drama has a semi serious tone to it SURELY we'll get a proper husband-wifey 3 long years of pent up passion kiss!! 😭
I know we're not going to get any steamy scenes but this couple exudes such a raw, sensual energy and the way theyve built up the tension between them, is it too much to hope we at least get a few kisses? 😍 Hopefully within the next couple episodes cause we're already halfway through the show 😭
Keeping a distance? Staying detached? Who is he fooling himself. His world starts and ends with her. Just as he watches the sun slowly set on that cliff, he feels the light leave his life every second she's not close to him. And it is only when she, who musters up the last bit of her strength to light the flare when she hears him say 'I'm scared to death right now' - it is only her who brings that light back into his world at that moment.
As for her, neither a trauma in childhood nor a near death as an adult could provoke her to make a single sound. The only sound she willingly made, with her sweet voice, was to call out his name when he was in danger.

And thank you! Ill give The Trunk a shot! :D

I love their love so much.
