I don't even know what to sayπππππ Thought the director/writer-nim wanted to salvage the drama in episode 9 but 10 was just uggggghhhhhhh. I have a theory, I think they didn't shoot the drama according to its chronological script, then after the shooting was done, they started puzzling it together.... Because my brain ain't braining anymore. Can't wait for next week, so that I can finally end the toxic relationship between me and this drama. FIN!!!!
I didn't know it was a 50 episode drama when I picked it up!!!!! I got the memo when I started watching episode 2 and let myself actually observe the mood, lens and pacing of the drama. And now, I am stuck. I wanna know what happens. Someone save me please, although I know in my kdrama brain that it is too late.
Your theory works except for the fact that you say that FL took the revenge too far with SY. I was almost trying…
Whew!!!! It's been a while since a drama got me putting my grey cap on. I get your point, really, I do. Now, I do not take SY's pain and hurt lightly. Infact, I do not have sentimental issues with him throwing SH's husband's infidelity in her face as a means to punish her. However, I draw a line when it involves using her mother. He should know better. Of course, he is unhinged ATM, but still........ Obviously, if that marriage later falls part, which it will, the mother will be hurt on her daughter's behalf which will in turn hurt SH.
Uggggghhhhhh, I love this drama. Now, this is what it means to be captivated by anger, revenge, and still, love (Captivating the king-- I am giving y'all a side eye here!). SH already knows the emptiness that comes with revenge and the anger it brews with it. While I still scoff at SY's justification of tumbling SH's world because of her crime towards him (it is still much more believable than CTK's motive). Now, before y'all come for me, I don't know if this show will take a romantic route, but there is platonic love here. He hurts her, only to want to save her or apologize. Yes, I know you can argue of that as his scheming tactic, but there is something about the way his anger binds them together. Platonic love is also shown in SH's willingness to play fool to her counterpart's antics. She knows who he is, she doesn't feel remorse for what she has done but she also kind of understands the pain he is going through. She has been through that, and she is just there, allowing him to be captivated by her just as she is captivated by him. I need SH to tell SY about the conversation she had with his father,-- it was not the initial action of murder that spurned her into rage if not the nonchalant attitude the father had exhibited (although, that's what she is doing presently too). I need SY to pipe down and tell his bestie/sidekick/whiny girl to rein it in!!!!! As for SH's husband and her lying 'adopted' sister, y'all know what I feel- because we all feel the same for that atrocity they've committed.
Another Theory Time: (with 80% chance of it being wrong)What if SY knew it was KJ all along? What if his revenge…
Your theory works except for the fact that you say that FL took the revenge too far with SY. I was almost trying to understand him until he made a statement saying "he wouldn't have messed with FL's family if she hadn't messed with his". Conveniently omitting that all these started because HIS father messed and ruined her family first. Now, I am still giving him the benefit of doubt. I wonder what his stance will be when or if FL tells him of her conversation with his father- which later escalated into her bitter revenge.
Finally, the FL finally has some nuance and more acting in these latest episodes. I don't think the problem is with her or any of the remaining actors anymore - I was biased in the beginning, I must admit. The problem is the script. This show took the "show, don't tell" rule seriously, except for the fact that there was no telling and no clips to go around to show. The writer/director gives us a few montage and say, 'yeah, you figure out the rest of the years yourselves'πππππ. The idea in itself is fresh, good and standard but the execution ain't it. I will watch to the end to see where this sh*tshow ends.
Boy, am I glad that I started this drama!!!! This is one of those series where I didn't check the actors/actresses and just dived in. I love the dialogues, and the overall tone of the series. I really do hope that they maintain it. And episode 2, OMG episode 2!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for subsequent episodes although there's nothing I can do but wait.
Nothing makes sense in the last episodes but we should kind of accept it because it helped us wrap the series somewhat satisfactory?? The villain didn't slaaappp like I wanted and the resolution/solution felt rushed. I hate to be that person but it was not giving for the last episodes. A nice run but I don't think I'll subject myself for a rewatch... Except the kissing scenes on days I have too much time on my hands!!!
I am no medical expert but intentionally doing something and being tricked into doing something is entirely different.…
Okay, when you put it like that, I get ya. But is it really a kdrama if they don't have what we frame as unhealthy drinking habits in the real world?π. If I took a shot for everytime a drinking scene comes up in an average kdrama, I'd be an alcoholic!!!! no kidding.
And yeah, I can't wait for the Ambien dude to meet his Waterloo. I knew he was trouble when I saw him (and not in the context Taylor's song describes!!!).
I find it absolutely insane that they're making such a big deal that the asshole superior spiked ML's drink with…
I am no medical expert but intentionally doing something and being tricked into doing something is entirely different. I know the consequences of my actions but if someone played a part in pushing me to that situation, believe me, I will be big mad!!!! And like someone already noted, Ambien is different from the antidepressants the leads are taking and the consequences of Ambien and alcohol is more critical than it mixing with antidepressants. I don't think it is convenient for the plot. It actually makes sense for the plot.
Ima just explain it in the simplest words lol. Basically, what happened in ep 18-19 is that temple girl is dead…
Is it weird if I say I understand but I am still lost π. Like the plot on paper makes sense but the sequence of action is infuriating!!!! Reminds me of Moon in the day.
Brainnnnnnn freeeeeeezzzeeee!!!! Can someone save me or better still, explain what in the freaking world of seongsu-dong is happening to the plot of this series?
The FL is an extremely selfish, manipulative and immature person. She's been directing her hatred in the wrong…
Ikr!!!!!!! I feel like she does everything she does just to know the limit of the buttons she can push when it comes to Lee In. Taking my time to actually gauge her character and acting, I am of the opinion that it is intentional. She carries these beady-teary-eyed looks everywhere because she knows it is her saving grace! She is sly, selfish, conniving and a devil. She knows it but she hasn't come to terms with it yet.
And yeah, I can't wait for the Ambien dude to meet his Waterloo. I knew he was trouble when I saw him (and not in the context Taylor's song describes!!!).
