My Mister is one of top favorites, because it got everything perfect — Story, acting, cinematography, OST, you name it, but one of the least appreciated aspects is that it’s peppered with great and inspirational quotes.
I already noticed quite a few memorable quotes in MLN already:
• “Fate is nothing more than a person’s outlook on life” - Mother to Gi-jeong. • “Can’t they leave introverted people alone?” - Outside the HR office trying to push clubs on employees • “Regardless of where I lived, my life would have been just the same” - Mi-jeong answering Chang-hee when he said his life would be different if he was born in Seoul instead of the countryside. • “I never play favorites, I hate everyone. There isn’t a single person I like” - Gi-jeong about her coworkers.
I have rewatched several of my favorite dramas immediately after they ended, because I wanted to experience the wonderful feelings they gave me, but not this one.
I have been listening to the OST (terrific OST BTW) nonstop for the last few weeks, I don’t think I can listen to a single song now.
Congrats Writer-nim and Director-nim, you managed to destroy a wonderful story and terrific acting with your nonsensical ending.
Not only is Shin Min-ah a goddess when it comes to looks, but she has the most beautiful voice and the way she delivers her lines. The contrast is most evident when she’s having dinner with Du-sik and then with Ji PD. Her eyes are sparkling, her voice is bubbly with Du-sik, and then then the somber look (without saying a word but spoke volume) with Ji PD. Her range is simply amazing, what a pleasure to watch.
I am hoping Du-sik does not reject her outright and be honest and open that he needs to work out through his issues first.
The writer (and director) have so far treated this audience intelligently as shown by some of the mature conversations that occurred in this episode. I hope they follow through and not give us some old and tired “misunderstandings” scenes.
This is my first kdrama (amongst over 40+ dramas) that I watched while it’s airing; and though the weekly wait is agonizing, it has given me some time to revisit my favorite scenes again and again.
I am someone who likes to binge but I have come to appreciate this format much more and is probably why it’s making this drama so endearing to watch.
I'm not fussed about the love triangle, but can you tell me where they mentioned this? Was it in a BTS or something?
The drama’s producers commented, “This situation is different than the love triangle situation where two men get jealous and try to steal the woman from each other. You will enjoy the drama even more if you focus on both Hong Doo Shik and Ji Sung Hyun, who each possess their own attractive charm, and Yoon Hye Jin to see how their relationship grows steadily deeper. Against the backdrop of the special village of Gongjin, the trio’s romance will play out in a variety-style way, so please look forward to it.”
Stop with the love triangle crap, there will NOT be a love triangle as we’ve been accustomed to in other dramas, the producers of the show said so, none, zero, nada. This is a healing drama, the three main leads will be helping each other’s out, that’s what true love and friendship is all about. No jealousy, no angst, no misunderstandings.

My interpretation, and it was foreshadowed when both Hye-jin and Sung-hyun grabbed Doo-sik when he almost fell, that they will both be part of his healing process from whatever trauma he suffered in the past. They will be by his side and help him, what true love and true friendship is all about…

I cannot even rate it a 7 with that ending, I feel numb inside.
Hye-jin: Wrote 100 things in advance like the planner/dreamer she is.
Du-sik: Wrote “1. give her a present I made myself” after he finished it.
I have never been smitten by these these two characters, goodness they are just perfect together, and just a pleasure to watch…
Marvelous writing, directing, and acting. Wow!!!

I love the warmth of Yoon Hye-jin’s character, she’s such a joy to watch…
