They had made the character of SML quite well. Also, he understood FL and was there all the time. And he was at the point where he did not accept romantic relationships because of his parents' problem. But for the first time in his life he says that he likes FL.. The story was built from SML's point of view rather than ML's and just let him go. That character was destroyed. If you wanted to remove that character, why did you bring it so far?
