yes unfortunately this drama is overrated because of main actor, same happens in reborn rich imo. its why i dont…
I also think that some shows get a higher rating for the actors involved and not for the intrinsic quality of the work, and I think i don't get influenced by that. Having said that, I gave reborn rich a 9.5 lmao, I liked the show in general but even more the relationship between MC and the grandpa.
On Again My Life Mar 19, 2025
It was ok, i liked the actors but i feel the directing made a lot of scenes look cheesy and cartoonish, the story also was kind of weak.
On Fight for My Way Aug 5, 2024
Been on a popular drama watch marathon, gotta say this was my least liked one. Too much time wasted on how oblivious they both are, some plot points felt rushed or lacking, and the comedy at times wasn't my style, but some scenes and dialogue were very relatable and thoughtful, so i still enjoyed it.
On A Time Called You Jul 29, 2024
Just finished, it was ok, kind of emotional but very boring at times. Also, the time travel aspect isn't as confusing as comments make me think it would.

Man, this was exactly my experience, someone on the friend group started streaming this on discord and we had a blast with making fun about a lot of scenes. So yeah, on that side it was enjoyable lmao

I also don't know how you can rate The Killer Paradox so highly, so let everyone rate as they like. Each of us…
Because it was entertaining and interesting concept this was too cliché with too much plot holes to enjoy.

Well, there are a lot of dramas out there with 2nd season but still good such as Kingdom, Taxi Driver, Dr. Romantic…
i could see the argument of Stranger, Missing and DP second seasons not living to the season 1 expectancy, but none of those were bad, Duty After School in the other hand...

Hi! I am not sure if it is the same as the books as ive never read it.
Both, the endings is similar, they fake it out with an alien at first but then shows Yeong Soo doing the same thing, , the scene is less dramatic and shorter but i feel at the same time more impactful, also the aliens of the book are deadlier but less active in a way, the drawing itself isn't suited for action so the book does not focus on action like the show did in S1, it focuses more on how the kids have to suffer on the system created by adults, both in academics and military

Hi! I am not sure if it is the same as the books as ive never read it.
The second part was more close to the webtoon vibe, the book had almost no action or at least not the kind shown in the drama, and i think that's exactly why they took more liberty in part 1, to catch more viewers but for some reason they decided to adapt a bit closer the book for the second half, ruining everything for the S1 fans and the book fans

Yeah, there were many changes done at the start that didn't make any impact for the later half, it's so weird, and as i say the show did foreshadow Young Soo breakdown but the webtoon gave a lot more of time to show him changing, while in here he acted the same for most of the show until the last 40ish mins

!!!!Webtoon spoilers!!!!
A bit of a long read but let me explain the ending a bit better and what happened to the unexplained scenes:

The spheres in the webtoon are literal spheres, not this weird plant-like things, they can get killed with normal bullets but are inmune to knifes and explosives, when a sphere dies it explodes in a small but deadly radius, I think there wasn't a radar for the spheres either
Their female homeroom teacher left them since the start of the military draft announcement and went to a shelter with her husband, so they were assigned an old male English teacher who stayed with them and was a bit of a mental support for the group until the end of the story, similar to Won Bin.
The original story had Won Bin MIA and assumed dead when they escaped the High School.
The kid who died in the show chasing the truck actually was MIA and then latter revealed to have survived after hiding in the school alone.
Platoon leader didn't die, and he stayed with the kids until the end.
They were never sent on an operation by themselves or went to the jail or the amusement park, they were stationed in a military camp in a mountain where they had to take turns with other schools to fight spheres.
Some of the kids that died on the last scene didn't die or had been killed while fighting spheres.

Now to explain a bit about Young Soo, the scene was a bit different but he tried to sexual assault So Yeon and killed Il Ha for witnessing it, covered it up to say it was a sphere but this caused him to have hallucinations and panic attacks during months, but they just thought he was tired and obsessed with the CSAT and no one suspected him.

Now about the end scene:
Almost at the end of the kids service they were sent with the Platoon leader and the English teacher to clean a school close to their camp, where they sit on class 3-2 and start talking about things and having a bit of fun with the teacher while the platoon leader is outside a bit far and the comic shows his perspective, he hears gunshots, then it shows a big explosion followed by a fire, later they show that some spheres attacked the kids when they were resting and class rep, nurse girl, Jang Soo and Young Soo died, but because of the fire their bodies can't be retrieved (I don't remember exactly who died). But then they show a plot twist with the perspective of the kids, what really happened was that Young Soo went in the classroom and shot those 3 kids, Na Ra shoots and kills Young Soo and she with everyone else starts having a panic attack. The English teachers calms them down and tells Na Ra that he shoot him too, and that his was the fatal bullet so she shouldn't blame herself for killing him but tells the kids that an incident like this would make the upper military to disband the platoon and the kids who died wouldn't be counted as war veterans or something like this so it was better to cover it up and fabricate the scene so it was a sphere that killed them.

After some kdrama webtoon adaptations I've become the guy that says the book was better than the movie lmao, the changes to the show narrative, story and pacing make me so salty because it could have been a lot better. I'll write some of the things they changed in a reply so if you didn't read the webtoon at least it can explain why the show ending felt so rushed and anticlimactic.

I still can't believe how they wasted away two full episodes (7+8) like that, while not even bothering to aknowledge…

For anyone else who also read the webtoon, do you think perhaps the story is better suited for that format rather…
I think the webtoon could have been perfectly adapted to a show but i feel they just decided to make changes for the first season to reach a lot more people that would be entertained by more action, to then do a 180 and make it a bit more depressing and slow like the webtoon

That's what I mean. I wanted to know more about how the world/military was handling the alien situation and know…
That's the problem, the webtoon wasn't that much of a touching survival story but a bittersweet one, a lot more like the last 2 episodes. The producers made the first part a lot more happy and light hearted, and the cramming of the mental breakdown of Young Soo in 2 episodes made it feel disappointing. But the original probably had 50% or less amount of aliens compared to the show.

Review Duty after School: Part 1 Spoiler
I read the webtoon long time back seeing that it got an adaptation thrilled me but then realized that the ending…
I think that it was a miss to change the vibe from the show, because it ended feeling more like a high teen drama than the bleak and depressive but sometimes cute and fun ambience that the webtoon has.

I would add Search (about soldiers who hunt something at DMZ) and Imawa no Kuni no Alice (not about monsters/zombies/aliens…
Alice i read the manga and spinoffs, haven't watched second season . Search i don't remember the reason but i dropped it after 3 episodes, might be because the video quality was bad where i watched it.
